2 Ingredients to Succeed

The Ingredients to Success

Ever tried one of those “Lose 28 lbs in 3 minutes” diets or “Make $5,467.99 in one hour from now” business opportunities

There is always an appeal to a quick fix and getting results immediately, and certainly it appears that our culture in the modern world has changed to an instant gratification and disposable society. Even just yesterday I threw out a pair of socks that had a hole in the big toe, and as I threw them into the trash can I actually thought to myself that, not too long ago, these would have been mended and maybe they would have lasted a couple more years.

Almost any item used in daily life is now a replaceable item. Even cars seem to be replaceable after what appears to be minor damage. The value of a “pre-loved” car is diminished to a negligible amount after it is over 5 years old, as I experienced when swapping my 5 year old Honda Prelude for a more “family” orientated car. The value of the Prelude had been reduced to 25% of the original purchase price and yet I can still remember my Dad dutifully doing an “Oil & Grease” change on his car to extend the life of the car and keep its value up for resale.

Most people would generally agree that repairing rather than replacing is generally a better option, but still we always to find for the quick fix, the get rich quick scheme and the immediate gratification of buy something to eliminate the problem, and this probably comes from having a lifestyle that is so hectic that paying someone to remove a problem is the easiest option and often the path of least
resistance.

Is it just a vicious circle?

  1. The more spare time we want to have, the more we pay for it.
  2. The more we have to pay for the spare time, the more we have to work.

See the dilemma?

It appears like a catch 22 situation, but one solution to solving this dilemma is to find an income stream that operates on a set and forget model. What I mean by that is set up a business that will produce income for you in an automated way, regardless of how much or how little time you spend on it. The internet offers a number of ways to make money, and I’ll leave it up to you to discover the many ways to make money on the internet, whether it be selling eBooks on eBay or creating a website to generate income.

Of course there are many other options, such as prioritizing your life and placing far less importance on money and material belongings, which often has its appeal as I picture my self cross legged on a remote sandy beach somewhere, gazing out to sea….

Anyway, my only advice when looking for success any any walk of life is:

“The only meaningful and satisfying outcomes that I have achieved are through a carefully planned and executed plan, where I have considered the journey to be at least as important as the destination”

So the 2 keys to succeed that I mentioned earlier:

  1. Always consider the journey and most importantly make it fun
  2. Resist the urge to buy a miracle cure (they often don’t work)

I wish you well in your endeavors

Restore the balance by running an internet business from home
