Teach Me Spanish Review – A Brief Description
By Patrick Roody | October 31, 2009 | Popularity: 1% (?)
Teach Me Spanish is not one of the newer language learning programs available. Because of this, it is not filled with the latest technology and teaching methods. However, it is and easy and effective way to master the Spanish language. This Teach Me Spanish review will touch on both the good and bad aspects of this software.
This system was built around the belief that there are really only two skills you need to master in order to be fluent in conversational Spanish. One is a vocabulary of around 2000 words. These words need to cover all the basic aspects of life. The second is a complete understanding of Spanish grammar. Once you are proficient at these two things, you can be fluent in Spanish.
Because of its simplicity and direct approach, this Teach Me Spanish review believes this system is very easy to use. It automatically adapts itself to your learning speed and includes a story with each lesson. You follow the story and add the appropriate words in the correct tenses to fill in the blanks.
Each lesson ends with a test so you can easily track your progress. These tests determine how well you are learning your new vocabulary as well as how well you are retaining the vocabulary from previous sections. Each lesson builds on the previous one, so you want to makes sure you are proficient at one before you move on to the next one.
In the interest of giving all necessary information, it is important for this Teach Me Spanish review to mention this systems drawbacks. One is that there are no video or interactive conversational aspects of to this software. Many people find it easier to learn and more fun to learn a language when these things are present. The speech recognition program included in this system is not terribly accurate. You must dictate the words very carefully and correctly in order for the program to recognize them. This can be difficult to do when you are first learning to speak a language.
