December 21 2012 The End of the Mayan Calendar

By Kenneth Patrick | July 25, 2007

The Mayan Calendar comes to an end on December 21 2012. Many believe this will be the end, the end of everything. But is this date really important? Does it really mean the end?

What is the most accurate calendar ever invented? The Mayan Calendar is the most accurate in not just tracking time but also predicting planetary events six thousand years before they happen and being off by just one day. That is remarkable when you think of something created over 2500 years ago. The Mayan Calendar is a series of very complex calendars that are joined together to create the most complex yet highly accurate calendar ever.

How was December 21 2012 derived from the Mayan Calendar? As mentioned before, the Mayans used several calendars to make up the one Mayan Calendar. The Mayans used a series of cycles that made up larger cycles up to what we would call a long cycle. This long cycle just happens to end December 21 2012, which is also the end of the Mayan Calendar.

It is the long cycle that will be coming to an end on 12 21 2012, hence all the intrigue surrounding this date. Some say it will be the end of mankind and others say a new long cycle count will begin on 12 22 2012.

What would be helpful is knowing if there is anything predicted to happen in 2012. Is there anything that could potentially support the end coming in 2012?

If we have data to confirm something was going to happen from extremely reliable sources, say from very reputable scientist, then we might want to take warning. A warning will help us prepare for whatever event might take place in 2012.

Is there any data? Yes there is and it does come from a very, very reliable source. Their prediction for an event that will be detrimental to the world we know it will occur either in 2011 or 2012. This gives much validity to the 12 21 2012 Mayan Calendar date.

So, what do we do now? We must prepare ourselves so that we are not in a position like the rest of the world when everyone is in a reactive mode. It is time to be proactive and prepare now. Are you prepared?
