Vitamin A is a critical component of maintaining healthy skin because it helps to rebuild cells.
The nutrient you consume from food is considered pre-vitamin A, which is also referred to as retinol and beta-carotene. Once you have enough pre-vitamin A in your body, your system will create its own vitamin A. So be sure to consume the right animal products and vegetables so that your body has what it needs. For optimal vitamin A consumption take a daily supplement of no more than 25,000 international units (more vitamin A is toxic).
