Finding Cellulite Becomes Every Womans Over 30’s Worse Nightmare.

Why society has this almost obsessive compulsion with finding cellulite is beyond comprehension. I am almost certain if you selected any womens magazine from the numerous available on the news stand it will feature either ads, articles or photo’s of cellulite. Most women especially any likley to be seen in the public eye see it as a serious problem which must be got rid of at all costs.

But why is it such a big deal, what is cellulite?

If we were to refer to wikipedia it says for cellulite ” a condition that occurs in men and women where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty”. Descriptive names for cellulite include orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, the mattress phenomenon, and hail damage.

Contrary to common belief people (women and men) of all ages can have cellulite it is not a symptom exclusive to women as most believe. Some how what is seen as adorable on babies is horrifying bad news on women. Trashy celebrity magazines in the grocery store and on the news stands take great delight in showing photo’s of celebrities when scantily clad on a beach to show close-up photos (doubtless taken with very large zoom lenses) of actresses and their shockingly ‘normal’ bodies.

Just cast your eye across the shelves of the drug store, beauty counter or the numerous websites out there and you’ll find dozens of creams, potions and lotions to get rid of cellulite. Strange thing is they will all claim to be the best solution to get rid of your dimpled areas on your legs and thighs a condition known as cellulite.

What many people so easily ignore out of choice or ignorance there is a very simple solution for cellulite elimination and preventing it in the first place in a word, EXERCISE! that’s right In most cases, regular exercise such as biking or walking will rid you of cellulite and tone your legs and bottom better than any cream, lotion or other method …

Yes I know unlike the other methods you might need to put some physical effort in to things but the big plus is you’ll almost certainly drop a few pounds into the bargain

Why is it people spend so much time worrying about the after effects of neglecting their bodies but fail to do anything about the cause that led to the problem in the first place? I’m not saying everyone could have a perfect body that’s just impossible but eating healthy and keeping healthy has to make sense doesn’t it?

Don’t think that cellulite is a sign of bad health it is not , nor is it a disease or even and illness . You might find this hard to accept if you listen to the skin care companies or read articles in womens magazines. But their interests lie else where.

Simply walking for half and hour every day will do more for your self-confidence and overall feeling of health than any magic cream or lotion or those increasingly popular electric muscle stimulators. If you found time like I did to read research about cellulite, it is very simply fatty tissue that is not generally unhealthy in its self (unless you also have too much body fat overall) and really no different from ordinary fat any where else on the body.

Should you choose a spa treatment a cream you apply yourself or even the latest must have gadget they all make claims which may well leave you disappointed and feeling cheated. There is I am afraid to say no quick fix for excess fat other than a healthy diet and some exercise.

You must not forget your body shape and the way it disperses fat around the body is a genetic trait so if you get cellulite if all else fails just say your mom gave it to you.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine which is a reliable source recommends the following for people concerned about cellulite:

- Eat a healthy diet with fruits, vegetables, and fiber (5 a day is recommended) Plenty of fluids (water is best) Regular exercise Healthy weight with no yo-yo dieting, No smoking (this is very important for your over all health anyway)

There is no need for concern about cellulite but with all those magazines bombarding you I expect you’ll find that hard to accept.
