Eat More For A Faster Metabolic Rate

By Jennifer King | January 31, 2010

Your acknowledgment of the need and desire to lose weight is the first and most difficult step on the path to weight loss. If your weight plays on your mind once you have gotten to the weight you desire you will remove the unwanted stress in your life.

Some people find it hard to get their head around the fact that eating more often will help them to lose weight. This is the opposite to what most people on a diet first think as they will first try and cut down on the amount of calories they consume . Eating less will end your weight loss before it has even started even if you don’t realize it at the time.

If you want to put your body in a state of starvation then go ahead and eat less. By not eating enough you set your body up to have low energy throughout the day. Eating less also makes your body store as much fat as possible because it is being starved. You should also know that once you begin to keep yourself from eating you will have a greater food craving than if you were to just eat sensibly.

Your aim should be to remain fit and healthy through out your life. Dieting and eating less causes the human body to start using its self defense mechanisms to try its hardest to maintain your health. These systems will automatically start up when your body gets the signal that it is needed. Among the most developed of our body’s defense mechanisms is its reaction to the perception of starvation.

Your body will begin to think that it is starving if you choose not to eat enough or if you wait for long periods of time between meals. You shouldn’t do this because your body will react in a negative way. You will slow down your metabolism making it harder to burn the fat you are trying to lose. A successful weight loss plan needs a fast metabolic rate.

Eating less causes your body to lose muscle mass rather than fat. Once your muscle mass suffers so will your ability to exercise. The loss of lean muscle also causes your metabolic rate to diminish even further. Again reducing the amount of fat that your body is able to burn.

If you intend to burn fat then you have to make sure that you speed up your metabolism, and the best way to speed up your metabolic rate is to eat every 2 to 3 hours. Once you get everything right your new body will get to you sooner than you think.
