Parents New Study Regarding Free Coloring Pages
By Tim Beachum | January 21, 2009
Teachers and parents once thought of free coloring pages as a entertaining activity for the children. Teacher would use the coloring pages as classroom activities to keep the little ones occupied. Parents would often use coloring pages as one of many activities at birthday parties, and as a distraction on long road trips.
There was an in depth study done by a group of volunteers by the name of Kids Come First a childhood and parenting development team ” it has been discovered that coloring pages serve multiple purposes in your childs educational development. It was found that coloring pages actually help develop your childs hand eye coordination, it builds their self-esteem by giving them a since of accomplishment. As a teacher or a parent its a good idea to make sure that your child completes the coloring page from beginning to end thus giving them a since of accomplishment.
I thought that this concept was a great way to use free coloring pages as an educational tool. Depending on the age of your child you can show him or her how to locate their own free coloring pages by using the Internet..
Free coloring pages are also great as a party activity. Im not sure about you but I have had the pleasure of having a house filled with the yelling and screaming of little ones going bananas. Trying to get them to settle down is just like trying to tame a herd of wild horses.
I took it upon myself to do my own little research. I found that even child party planners and event coordinators were beginning to jump on board the free coloring pages party train. According to a little over a dozen party planners and coordinators that were interviewed they all were using free coloring pages to hold coloring contests. According to these event planners they claim that the activity builds ccomrodory among the children as well as an understanding of sportsman like conduct. The party planners that were interviewed all pointed out the importance of issuing a prize to all of the children regardless of who completed the best coloring page.
Party planners and or activity planners suggest that you keep all of the coloring pages from your child’s event. The coloring pages along with the photos from the event should be put into a scrapbook. The scrapbook could then be given to your child years later. This could be the beginning of a tradition that has been long forgotten, and that is family heirlooms.
Here’s another tid-bit of information I ran across regarding the psychological study of Christmas coloring pages. The professionals have stated that Christmas coloring pages actually have a positive psychological effect on your child.
According to a press release sent out by Kids Come First children associate Christmas with uplifting positive emotions. It doesnt have to be Christmas for your child to color Christmas coloring pages. The bottom line is by allowing them to color the Christmas coloring pages you will have a happy child on your hands.
Thanks to Tim Beachum and his Free Coloring Pages parents and teachers never have to pay for coloring books again.
