Article-1-Part-1 Snoring may be defined as the noise that a snorer produced when she/he breathes while sleeping. Breathing creates the vibration in the soft palate and the uvula. These vibrations create a sound as the tissues contact one another in the back of the throat and in the nose. The uvula at the back of your throat, the soft spot of your mouth ,your adenoids and tonsils are suppose to be responsible in the making of noise action.
Age is believe to contribute to the problem of a narrowing of air passages, that make snoring more likely. This explains why some women who were used to sleeping quietly when they were younger now find themselves snoring after menopause.
Smoking may cause snoring as muscles relaxes when you smoke.Inhaling smoke can bring congestion to the lungs and nose therefore spurs snoring. . Enlarged tonsils or adenoids can cause obstructions of the airway and lead to more vibrations and more snoring. This happens when there is infection, such as tonsillitis or person with enlarged adenoids or tonsils.Alcohol intake and some types of medication contribute to snoring
Sleeping position may play a role in snoring.Sleeping on your side with a pillow to make you more comfortable is a must.Your throat?s flesh may relax and block your airway when you are sleeping on your back.
Snoring may affect people from any ages but men seem to be more prone to experiencing this condition. Snoring may not be as serious as the other medical conditions, still should be given attention as it does not only have certain health implications, it may also be quite emotionally and socially disturbing. Snoring takes place when there are physical impediments that affect the flow of air through the mouth and nose during sleep. The sound produced is due to the vibration of the throat muscles as the air passageway is blocked. The obstruction can observed in any of the areas: ?Nasal passages. Blockage in these passages results to difficulty in breathing. With this, the soft tissues of the throat may collapse which, in turn, may further cause snoring. Given this, people with sinus infections, colds, or allergic rhinitis are reported to be snoring. Some people, have very relaxed or soft throat muscles which collapse easily. As the muscles collapse, the air passageway narrows, resulting to the unusual sound produced. Those who have bulky throat muscles are prone to snoring since the air passageway is narrower than the ideal. ? Opening from the nose going to the throat. A long palate or even long uvula narrows down this opening. and that the tissues and muscles are situated closely to each other, and each other during breathing.
