Reverse Phone Number Research — Why it is a Good Thing
By Hans Hisbon | January 15, 2009
As most cell phone user know, if a person calls you, the name is not usually displayed unless you have them stored into your phonebook. There are many ways you can find out the number who is calling you, and using one of the many online services to do this has become increasingly popular. There is now a way to lookup even unlisted names and cell numbers on the internet. If you are getting harrassing telephone calls, or just want to find out who is behind the number, you have options.
Of all the ways a person can use a service such a reverse telephone lookup website, catching a cheating spouse is one of the most popular. Keep in mind that every name that is associated with the number will end up on the report, not just the accountholder, so if someone has used that number, then it will show up. Do not stay in the dark and wonder who your mate is calling, you can now find out. In today’s world, it has become increasingly easier to get the information you need.
Another use for the reverse phone lookup service is if you recieve a lot of unwanted or harrassing calls. If you answer the phone with the name and address of your harasser, they will think twice about trying to contact you again. Harrassment can take a devastating toll on your life, it helps to be proactive and know who is doing the harrassment. It is also a good idea to block private calls or out of the area calls from your celluar or landline, this will put and end to a lot of the calls, and if they do get through, at least you have the ability to find out who and where they are coming from. Once you get the address of the phone number calling you, put the address in Google maps, and if street view is available (it is in most of the United States) you can even find out what your stalker’s house and neighborhook look like.
Look up your bill collectors or telemarketers online as well. If you get a call from someone from the same number on a consistent basis, look them up then block them. This way you do not have to deal with it anymore. Most times, these types of calls come from the same block of numbers. So if you see a pattern in the numbers, you may feel safe knowing that it is probably from someone you do not wish to speak with.
In today’s world, there is no reason for anyone to be in the dark. Know right away if someone is feeding you a line. Have you been on a blind date, and they lied about some of their details? Or maybe something just doesn’t seem right? Be sure to get their telephone number, and the information channels will start to open up. There is power in knowledge, make sure you have both.
