Close To Mendocino, Fort Bragg Hotels Are More Down To Earth

By R.C Davis | October 3, 2009

Fort Bragg was once a centre of industry for logging and fishing, but these industries have both deteriorated in recent years and this town now finds itself a centre for tourist trade. Fort Bragg hotels are far more down to earth and therefore cheaper than hotels in Mendocino, as Mendocino is this particular coastline’s commercial centre.

Quaint fishing and logging towns like Fort Bragg have taken on the over-shoot of the urban sprawls of major commercial centers such as Mendocino. Business owners are taking their boutiques, galleries and restaurant out of town to place such as Fort Bragg to escape this urban sprawl and also take advantage of the good tourism industry.

Because of this tourists and locals are making this town a popular place to visit and in March during the Whale Festival, as well as during the Labor Day Weekend, Fort Brag finds itself a hive buzzing with activity.

Because it is such a popular tourist destination Fort Bragg has many beautiful B&B’s, Guesthouses, hotels and motels which are reasonably priced as well as unique. The Grey Whale Inn is one of these, a gorgeous redwood building that was built in 1915 as a hospital.

It is a short way from the beach and each guest room has very unique features. The rooms are large, and hallways spacious; and it is filled with beautiful antiques. If you feel like eating your breakfast in bed, there are trays available in the breakfast room for you to fill and take back to your room. This is definitely a venue where you can relax.

For a slightly different kind of accommodation the “Beachcomber Motel” is well priced and although the style is very different from many of the antique and lace filled rooms of the local Fort Bragg B&B’s. Accommodation is still more than adequate for anyone’s needs. The rooms are comfortable and all the necessities available.

Rooms can be had from budget to luxury, and there are also rooms available with kitchenettes. So if you want to cook you own meals you can and there is also a barbeque are for guests to use. Although this motel does not have all the bells and whistles of many of the Fort Brag hotels and B&B’s, it is still more than adequate to provide for anyone’s needs.

One of the most popular venues in Fort Brag is the North Coast Brewing Company, this is a place where the locals hang out, and when you visit a new town, you should always find out where the locals go. In 1998 this brewery was voted as one of the Top ten in the world. The building where the pub is situated has been used for many purposes during its century long life-time and once even served as a mortuary.

Whatever your budget or requirements Extreme Hotels Deals will help you find the best suited hotel accommodation amongst the variety of Fort Bragg hotels. All you need to do is to visit them online at http://www.extremehotelsdeals.com.
