  • Advanced Cycles For Advanced Lifters (Part 3)
If you are in week 2 and find yourself unable to face the 80% x 6 x 2 light session because you "feel tired" then you can go back to reading Men's Health magazine cause you are not destined to be strong. Feeling tired is just a fact of life to an athlete, not an alarm bell that you need to take a week off and stay in bed playing with your pee-pee. You judge how well you are recovering by whether or not you made your lifts. If you are making your lifts you are recovering just fine, whether you feel like shit or not.
  • Anabolic Steroid Safe Use - When to start using Juicing (Part 2)
So when can I begin? And why? I would recommend around 21. As a teenager, a high level of testosterone is naturally present, which cause sporadic growth spurts in males. During this time period the body as a whole has not completely matured including bones, muscle tissue and internal body organs.
  • Anabolic Steroids and Your Blood (Part 1)
Even a weight trainer engaged in heavy lifting will return out of the norm results even with no use of anabolic steroids. Now we all know the liver is one of the most important organs in the body Duh! - they all are! Detoxification, numerous processes involved in the conversion of food for energy, growth and repair.
  • Anabolic Steroids and your blood!!! (Part 2)
A weight trainer is not always too concerned about glucose, but what he doesn't realise is that medicine has an adverse affect on blood sugar levels. Combine with the higher intake of carbs compared to a normal person, these raised levels could point towards to beginning of diabetes.
  • Bodybuilders and their Future (Part 1)
It is a common fact that Bodybuilders are not immortal and have to die at some stage, but this Bodybuilder was barely 30 years old. Although he was relatively unknown on the world scene as a bodybuilder, he was a U.S state heavyweight champion and one of the best at national level.
  • Bodybuilders and their Future (Part 3)
On 22nd May 2003, a Bodybuilder died. Scott Klein was found lying dead on his bed at 5.00am by his mother. He died of cardio-vascular disease and kidney failure. His death may have had absolutely nothing to do with bodybuilding, but 30 year old men do not die suddenly with kidney failure unless there is some known genetic weakness and, as far as I am aware, that was not the case here. In the same week that I heard about Scott Klein I read detailed reports of the illness of Tom Prince - another g
  • Bodybuilding - The "Fastest Gains" Report
Bodybuilding workouts - It is so important to train the biggest muscle areas in order to provide a highly anabolic environment within the body is important for the biggest muscles of the body (especially those that are used in the squat, deadlift, and even leg-pressing on the whole, For example the muscles of the thigh, hip and lower back region) are trained and stimulated to grow. Why you may ask? Since these muscles represent such a large amount of the total muscle mass on the human body, any training stress of sufficient intensity that make these muscles grow will also increase stress levels on the body overall.
  • Bodybuilding Advice - Teenagers and Weight Training (part 2)
Try to make the routines fun, not an ordeal. Never force youngsters to train against their will. They can do all free standing exercises, flexibility exercises, plus the learning of sport skills and the related sportsmanship and team work required in such sports. Weight training exercises should as we said in part 1 be light to medium and avoidance made of the potentially dangerous exercises such as dead lifts, heavy cheat bent over rowing, cheat barbell curls and the spine busting bending heavy low squats.
  • Bodybuilding Advice - Weight Training for Teenagers (part 1)
Teenagers often come to a crisis in their lives when it comes to physical appearance and an acceptable self image. These can be troubling times as they strive to reach their objectives, defeat is painful. This combined with the effects of adolescent hormones and subsequent appearance of spots and pimples, they are no doubt in an up hill struggle to reach that acceptable physical image.
  • Bodybuilding And Getting Mass Muscle
The underlying question is: What is the quickest way to make muscle gains? This question can be resolved in several ways, but the most effective way yet not the easiest will be considered in the following;-
  • Bodybuilding and your Training Errors (Part 1)
Eating like a pigeon: This is really quite straight forward. You need an excess of calories in your diet in order to grow new tissues. If you see that you are not putting weight on, then quite simply eat more proteins, carbs and even fats.
  • Bodybuilding and your Training Errors (Part 2)
It is a proven fact that our post training body has the ability to synthesis more protein. It is also a fact that our muscle tissue after training is a lot more sensitive to insulin and that the simple carbs tend to stock themselves up with glycogen rather than replenishing our body fat levels.
  • Bodybuilding and your Training Errors (Part 2)
Let's start off with a few facts and let's point out at this stage that our body after training has a greater ability to synthesis protein. Also our muscle tissue post training has greater sensitivity to insulin and simple carbohydrates will be replenished with glycogen instead of being turned into body fats.
  • Bodybuilding Diets - Go Bananas With Bodybuilding
So forget an apple a day... If your energy levels really need toping up, nothing is better than a banana. Consisting of three natural sugars - fructose, glucose and sucrose - along with fiber, will give you a long lasting energy boost. Recent tests show that just two bananas can supply you with the required energy for an intense 90 minute workout. It won't surprise you then that the world's best athletes view the banana as being the number one fruit.
  • Bodybuilding Legends - Body Builders and their Future (Part 2)
Just fifty years back, drugs had yet to appear on the bodybuilding scene. It wasn't until the late 50s that we begin to hear about drug use in sport and by the early 60s Dianabol was being taken by bodybuilders. This coincided with the big drug companies seeing their opportunity of making big money through the development of their own steroid drugs most of which are still in use today. Things didn't quite turn out as expected though as the initial drug use reports appeared and many companies abandoned their products. Although many good drugs were actually patented, they were never fully developed.
  • Bodybuilding Legends - Bodybuilders and their Future (Part 1)
As we well know, Bodybuilders are just mere mortals and will die at some time just like the rest of us, but this Bodybuilder was only 30 years old. He wasn't of the most famous in the world, not even in the world of bodybuilding. He was though an American heavyweight and had won several state titles and he was a top ten player at National level.

In the same week that I heard about Scott Klein I read detailed reports of the illness of Tom Prince - another great bodybuilder - with ulcers and kidney problems.
  • Bodybuilding Routines - Bodybuilding and common Training Errors (Part 1)
Eating like a pigeon: There's nothing simpler than the fact that if you are not putting on weight, you just have to eat larger quantities so you can grow more body tissues. That means not only more proteins but also more carbohydrates and even fats.
  • Bodybuilding Tips - Healthy Habits for increasing Muscle Mass
For you to get the best results from your workout, your body needs all the necessary vitamins and minerals as well as necessary levels of major components of the diet being proteins, carbohydrates and lipids. These are referred to as the 'macro-nutrients' of the diet as they are consumed in much larger quantities, where as the 'micro-nutrients' being vitamins and minerals are consumed in much smaller quantities.
  • Bodybuilding Training - Bodybuilding And Getting Mass Muscle
The proverbial question: what's the fastest way to gain muscle? That question can be answered in a number of ways, but the best way (not the easiest!) is going to be discussed in this article.

  • Great Cycles For Advanced Lifters (Part 2)
For the chosen lift you will need to determine your one rep maximum, as the cycle will be based on % of that maximum lift. If you don't know your 1rep max for your lifts then it is probably a good indication that your record keeping is not what it should be or maybe simply that you are a perpetual fluff bunny who doesn't like heavy iron. You can guesstimate your one rep maxes from experience if you like, or hold on your cookies, get a decent spot and find out for sure. Your choice!
  • Healthy Habits for increasing Muscle Mass
In order to get the best results from your workouts, it is a fact that you must make available to your body all the necessary vitamins and minerals in addition to enough of the major components of the diet i.e. protein, carbohydrate and fats and oils (lipids). The proteins, carbohydrates and lipids are the 'macro-nutrients' of the diet since they are consumed in much larger amounts compared to the 'micro-nutrients' which are the vitamins, minerals and other biological substances consumed in much
  • Inside Bodybuilding ...Past and Present (Part 1)
I really am beginning to become fuming about bodybuilding and it's just like having haemorrhoids. Everywhere you look or read reading the sport you just keep seeing articles about poor physique standards and even worse is the attention being paid to the professional contests judging results.
  • Safe Anabolic Steroid Cycles - All about Mick Hart
I would like to introduce myself as the one and only Mick Hart, the big name from the bodybuilding world. I've been there, done it all and met some real bodybuilding legends and you are about to discover a catalog of bodybuilding information that you could only have dreamed of.
  • Squats, Heavy Squats And Squatters (Part 1)
If someone down the gym tells you that their favourite exercise is squats, well they would be either genetically gifted, they may be a masochist or just a bullshiter. While squatting is as a natural position as resting or having a pee, it is in fact as unnatural as my x wife's tits when having a heavy weight crushing into your neck and straightening up from a curved spine position. Although it is an unnatural movement it doesn't mean it isn't a quality exercise, but the normal reaction would be that you get it over and done with asap.
  • Squats, Heavy Squats And Squatters (Part 2)
A great proven way to gain weight and having been so since the times of Mark Berry, Roger Eells and others are breathing squats and pullover combo. They have been backed up by Peary Rader of Iron Man for many years and what really makes them stand out is the fact that they don't put any strain on the spinal column like heavy squats do.
  • Squats, Squatters And More Squatting (Part 1)
If someone tells you that they actually enjoy doing squats then they are either genetically gifted, a masochist or a dam right liar. Although the act of squatting is as natural to us as would be resting or having a dump, the actual movement of squatting low and then rising with an arched spine; while lifting a heavy weight which is crushing into our neck, is about as natural as most tits seen in Hollywood. This doesn't mean it is not an efficient exercise, but it certainly is an exercise you wan
  • Starting out Juicing (Part 1)
Should you be a bodybuilding novice or a teenager then you MUST read this article which will help you make a decision this will no doubtedly change the rest of your life. One of my opening questions would be, Are you too young? Check out some of the e-mails I have received from CHILDREN regarding Cycles.
  • Starting out Juicing (Part 2)
So tell me, when can I commence and why? Well I would always say 21 is a recommended age to start. And why?....Well basically in a male up til 21, the natural level of testosterone is high which causes sparadic growth spurts, which means that bones, muscle tissue etc. are still not fully developed and body maturity is still incomplete.
  • Steroid Use - When to start juicing (Part 3)
By when I got to 21, I was 6 foot 1' but if I had started juicing before I probably wouldn't have. Now I felt ready both mentally and physically. I had learned to train the hard way without drugs and this gave me the determination to succeed. You just need to push yourself to the limit over a period of time and diet is crucial...I worked myself up to 7 daily meals.
  • Steroids and Blood (Part 2)
A weight trainer is not always too concerned about glucose, but what he doesn't realize is that medicine has an adverse affect on blood sugar levels. Combine with the higher intake of carbs compared to a normal person, these raised levels could point towards to beginning of diabetes.
  • Steroids And Drug Testing (Part 2)
Immuno Assay (IA) This test involves certain antibodies that will attach themselves to specific drugs or it detects illegal substances through the metabolites they produce through their contact with the body. The reliability of the test is down to the antibody that is chosen as it could attach itself to something that is similar to but not an illegal substance, indicating an incorrect result.
  • Steroids and Your Blood (Part 1)
Even a weight trainer engaged in heavy lifting will return out of the norm results even with no use of anabolic steroids. Now we all know the liver is one of the most important organs in the body Duh! - they all are! Detoxification, numerous processes involved in the conversion of food for energy, growth and repair.
  • Teenagers and Weight Training (part 2)
Carrying on from part 1, I would insist on weight training exercises being light to medium , that means no heavy low squats or dead lifts and avoid any spine bending exercise. Start off with fun type exercises without putting them through any ordeal, and never make them train against their will. Try out free standing excercises, flexibility work and teamwork skills through sporting activities.
  • Testing For Anabolic Steroids (Part 1)
Drug testing in modern day sporting events is quite common practise nowadays. We are normally lead to believe that a very small percentage of competitors use performance enhancing drugs, but the truth is that is very common place amongst modern day competitors. There really isn't anything wrong in wanting to have a competitive edge over your main rivals, and that would normally amount to some form of anabolic steroids backed up by a plan to beat the test.

  • Testing For Anabolic Steroids (Part 2)
Immuno Assay (IA) This procedure uses antibodies that bind to specific drugs, or the metabolites of the drugs produced from their interaction with the body, in order to detect such substances. This test is only as good as the antibodies chosen, as antibodies vary in their specificity of binding; that is, they may also bind to other substances present in the sample that are not illegal by recognizing a similarity in another 'like' molecule, and yet, as a result, indicate that an illegal substance would be used.
  • The Bodybuilding Machine ...Past and Present (Part 2)
There are, and always will be, the sub culture hard core of trainees who pump iron solely to strut their stuff and maybe enter and try to win contests, adding more trophies to their cabinets at home. However for all of these categories, like it or not, whether competitive or not, all are openly or covertly influenced by physique contests and of course rising standards of accepted muscular perfection.
  • The Roid Rage"Past and Present (Part 1)
Bodybuilding is really beginning to piss me off and you might even describe the feeling as having hemorrhoids. I am constantly being swamped by journals and articles about how poor physique standards have become and what really gets at me are the concerns about professional contests judging results.
  • Too Young to use (Part 3)
I was so proud of myself when I reached 21, having grown a further 2 inches and now I really did feel prepared to start cycles both mentally and physically. Up till now I had done it the hard way without drugs and now I was more determined than ever to succeed. It is so important to push yourself to the limit and work hard on eating...I managed to get up to 7 meals a day.

  • Weight Training for Teenagers (part 1)
Creating an acceptable image is what motivates teenagers in the modern world. But the pressure to achieve success can be extreme and a physical image needs dedication to a point that the agony of defeat can lead to suicidal despondency. With the additional battle against adolescent hormones, spots and pimples appear just to make life even more difficult and every straw is clutched inorder to get within the acceptable norm physically.
