Bustier Corset A corset bustier, alternately bustiere, is an article of clothing for women, which is form-fitting and is traditionally worn as lingerie. Its primary purpose is to push up the bust by tightening against the upper midriff and forcing the breasts to move up, while gently shaping the waist. This piece of lingerie reaches down only to the ribs or the waist and has a different function. It looks somewhat like a Basque, but a bustier is shorter and extends from the breasts to the hips, though modern bustiers usually only reach until the lower midriff. The Bustier Corset An elastic corset lingerie that's a fusion of a brassiere and corset/girdle, the corset bustier lifts and flattens the stomach, just like other normal corsets. Considered as women's undergarment, the corset bustier is usually worn on the upper torso, extending from the chest to the hips, though some variations only reach until the middle of the ribs, like a sports bra.
