Who Could Be the Next Bachelor?
By: Groshan Fabiola
It seems that The Bachelor will be coming back soon as ABC recently announced that the reality dating game's return date is set on March 17, just about four months after Brad Womack made a quick decision of not choosing any of the final two women on the show's last season.
Meanwhile, the production is currently on the lookout for a new Bachelor. For a sneak peek into what kind of man they are looking for, here's the scoop.
In September, New York Magazine's blog reported that The Bachelor's casting team was targeting top law firms, emailing them saying that the casting team was looking for someone "who is successful, good-looking, has an out-going personality, is ready to settle down, is around 6 ft tall and, usually, is between 27 to 36 years of age."
Moreover, the production was, at the time, trying to keep talks at a low, as the emails to the law firms also said, "Please DO NOT forward to the press. We try to make this part of the process as private as possible."
"We've never had an attorney be The Bachelor so we are definitely looking to go that route," the email explained. Thing is, this all happened before The Bachelor's sudden ending in which Brad Womack chose to be literally an available bachelor even after the show. It seems that the casting directors had already changed their minds about recruiting a lawyer bachelor, because on December 5, they posted a casting call for Chicago, stating that they want "guys with good Midwestern looks who are ambitious, successful, charming, between the ages of 28 - 35 who are looking to settle down." It seems like "looking to settle down" is a big factor in this one.
On January 7, Joplin , MO will also have their casting call, which was rescheduled from this year due to the Midwest storms. Their requirements seem to have become more general, probably due to the location or the culture.
Despite all the factors, The Bachelor has one more add on that would surely have you looking for a perfect candidate as they are offering a $5000 finder's fee for successful Bachelor finds.
