The world is a dynamic place. Part of the dynamic nature of life is the wonderful things it creates. That being said, there are also some strange things that are both unusual and very interesting. In fact, here are 10.
1. Think eating celery is a good way to lose weight? You are right. You will expend more calories eating it then you will take in.
2. Women, Sex and Chocolate – In an odd twist, scientists have discovered a weird fact about women, sex and chocolate. Eating chocolate and having sex result in the same, exact brain functions in a woman!
3. Brides in Morocco – Getting married can be a scary thing. Brides in Morocco have it good. They keep their eyes closed throughout the ceremony per custom.
4. Fingerprints of Lions – Every lion is unique just like human beings. With humans, you can tell from our fingerprints. With lions, it is the whiskers. No two sets of whiskers are the same on any lions.
5. Families in China – There are well over a billion people in China. Given that fact, you would expect there to be a lot of families. Yes and no. There are a lot of families, but only about 200 total family names.
6. Philippine Flag Colors – The Philippine people have an interesting flag. Why? Well it changes colors. The top is blue during peace and red during war.
7. Crazy Koala Bears – Think of Australia and you see those crazy Koala bears. They are truly odd. For instance, they do not drink water, but get fluid from the leaves they eat. They also do not have any known predator.
8. Vodka Warmth in Russia – Why do Russians drink so much vodka? To keep warm. They say it keeps you warm on the inside while you are cold on the outside.
9. Voltaire and Coffee - Voltaire was one of the great thinkers of his time. So, how did he stay so motivated? He drank up to 50 cups of coffee a day. Heck, it is surprising he didn’t come up with more!!!
10. Korean Kids – Is there a difference between living conditions in North and South Korea? You decide – the average six year old in South Korea is three inches taller than the same child in North Korea.
The world of strange and interesting facts is bountiful. The above only represent a very small number of the millions of things that will make you raise your eyebrows. Given all the oddities, it is truly hard to argue life is boring and straightforward!
