Things to do to keep healthy while aging

Aging or getting older is something we all will face someday in our lives. As we age our bodies starts to work less effectively. As the body declines, noticable aging signs appear including wrinkles, crows feet, weight gain, weight loss, cellulite, other visible effects. To reduce the aging signs we must take action to maintain our health as it was when we were younger.

What not to do: Don't exercise before going to sleep. Exercise will get your heart rate up and your energy levels boosted,but you'll find it very difficult to relax and get to sleep. You are better off doing morning exercises, as this will kick start you day. A good method is to do a work out or even just go for a walk after your breakfast this will set you up for the day. Some people find this doesn't fit their routine so choose to exercise in the afternoon.

Don't be tempted to over do things. Keep realistic about your capabilities. Make sure you listen to what your body is telling you is enough don't continue if it starts to be painful. There is nothing wrong with exercise in the evening just make sure you don't go to bed too soon afterwards or you will find it hard to get to sleep.

Can't sleep and don't know why? Snoring or another sleeping disorders such as sleep apnea can stop you having a good nights sleep. Many sleep problems are related to being overweight speak to your doctor for advice if you have problems with sleeping.

By losing a few excess pounds by exercising and eating the right sorts of foods you will probably find you can also sleep better as well and you reduce the strain on your body. You might have a partner that snores which keeps you awake half the night. If this is the case suggest they speak to a doctor as it may suggest they have more serious underlying problems such as sleep apnea which can in some cases be fatal.

Additionally being depressed or feeling stressed can keep you awake at night. One good way to relax is yoga and meditation. This will help you chill out more easily. Suprisingly for some yoga can be very effective against stress and depression. Other methods include aromatherapy, hypnosis and even just listening to relaxing music.

It can seem like there is no where to turn when you've tried everything and still can't sleep. If you wake up feeling like you haven't been to bed speak to your doctor. He might suggest some tests are required or a referal to a sleep clinic or suggest either natural herbal remedies or prescription meds.

Healthy eating: Healthy eating is another good method to ensure you live a healthy aging life. When you eat the right food groups daily, you are able to maintain your body by providing it with, minerals, vitamins and other essential nutrients it needs to live healthy. As you grow older however, your body has different mineral, nutrient and vitamin requirements. Speak to your doctor about a diet which is designed to help you stay healthy as you age.

To prevent illness and disease as you get older you may want to consider taking vitamin and herb supplements.The reason being when your body get all that it needs it works more effectively. You'll find a good choice of vitamins and supplements available which can be broken down in to two types those which are water soluble and those which are fat soluble. Some people have found that some of the number of herbs which are available also provide positive results in an attempt to slow down the aging process.
