The perks of a sit down coffee shop
By: Karyn Lewis
As a business owner you can definitely offer a different type of coffee shop. One that is slower paced and more relaxing than many of them out there. Not everyone has the time to take in such a business though and that is one disadvantage. However, you will find there are enough customers out there looking for this type of environment.
Of course this type of sit down coffee shop isn't going to offer you 100 different flavors for your coffee or latte. Instead they are going to offer you basic coffee but that has been made with the finest ingredients. This is a concept that sits better with customers than one might think. Coffee has been loved by people for decades, even before all of the other options were introduced.
Some of them don't serve cooked meals, but rather deli style of sandwiches. They can also be a part of a nice bakery. Sweets always seem to go very well with coffee no matter what time of day it is. You may need to try out a couple of these different coffee shops to determine which environment you feel the most comfortable in.
In addition to offering great food and plenty of room to sit down, sit down coffee shops aren't as wild. People don't have that sense of urgency in their eyes that result in them cutting in line and pushing their way back out the door. Sometimes there is a line and you can't even get in the door at some coffee shops. Instead take a more practical approach and enjoy the social atmosphere.
There is nothing that compares to the individual service you will get at a sit down coffee shop. This is a personal touch that really goes a long way with customers. Even though chain coffee shops are friendly and the clerks smile, it isn't the same as having the waitress get to know you on a little bit more of a personal level.
There are plenty of customers out there that prefer this type of coffee shop. Yet they find they are hard to locate. Big name chain coffee shops keep on cropping up though. This is a better option than having to stand in line to get your drink and then fighting the crowd to get back out the door.
It does take paying attention to details in order to do well running this type of coffee shop though. Yet you may find it to be more rewarding for you than some other options. It can be a wonderful experience to know you are taking care of the needs of those that really like what your type of business has to offer them.
There are common elements found in any good sit down coffee shop. They haven't changed with time. They include a comfortable table to sit down at, plenty of coffee that is fresh and hot, free refills, and a great social environment. The types of equipment may have changed and the faces behind the counter but not the meaning these types of businesses have.
