The Self Fulfilling Prophesy of Breath

"Simply breathe - deeply and often, and whatever you do, don't stop breathing!" --Cheryl Lynne Rubbo This is a great exercise in leading your affluent prospects and clients and taking full credit for something they do every day, something so basic and primal that three minutes without it would kill them. I'm talking, of course, about breathing.
As we pace and lead our prospects, we are going after the part of their minds that is very childlike and literal. It does exactly what it is told to do. We issue directives, plant embedded commands, put forward instructions, all with authority, as if we are drill sergeants allowing us access to this place inside of them that needs to be ordered around.
Our unconscious minds are reactors. They respond to what we need them to respond to, but without thinking, without intelligence. I have a friend, a massage therapist, who instead of saying, 'take a deep breath' to her clients, will actually take a deep breath herself and she watches ninety-nine out of a hundred of her clients follow suit and take a deep breath themselves.
When you are in deep rapport, or if you want to check your level of rapport, try this: In the course of the conversation, say to your prospect, 'One of my clients said to me (pause, lower your voice), 'just breathe', and watch. Odds are, your results, if you have the rapport you need, will be similar to my massage therapist friend's results.
Of course, the nice thing is, if you wait ten seconds, everybody's going to breathe. We simply don't hold our breath for long. We can't. And when they breathe, you look at them and say, 'Yes. Just like that.' You take credit for the prophesy which has just been fulfilled. This deepens rapport as a result. You say 'breathe', sooner or later they have to.
These commands and directives can be immediate and time-released. They can be recalled repeatedly by our clients and prospects so that when say a conscious deep breath occurs, they link it back in some way to you or your product or service.
You were the one who said 'breathe' and it comes back to being true for you. Look for additional ways to do that from time to time. For anybody who wants a challenge, come up with a few more ways of doing that. How do we issue instructions that are self-fulfilling prophesies and which must be carried out?
