The Question is... Customized Websites or Template Websites?

By: John Allison

The question I always get in my blog is should I get a customized website or should I get a template website. Which one should I get?

Before I could answer such a complicated question, I had to ask are you creating a website for a brick and mortar company or for a squeeze page?

Sounds simple, but it goes deeper than just those 2 websites. There is a ton of coding that goes in to a customized website and that is probably the best for the concept for the "I want to sale things on my site" vs. "I am an affiliate for some XYZ company and I want to redirect them to my affiliate site and get their email so I can spam them to death with other offers"

If your just creating squeeze pages to capture names and emails than don't waste your money on expensive customized sites.

For the brick and mortar type of website, you need to go ahead and spend the money for good hosting and custom website creation. Your site will look professional and it will make the sales you are wanting. Good hosting will run you around $25 a month.

Now your site is built ... now what? You won't be able to see it on the web until you have it hosted. Many companies will try to sale you hosting on their servers, but buyer beware. You get what you pay for here. This is one area you don't want to go cheap.

Hosting is required for every website. This is what makes the website live on the net. Without hosting, you don't have a website!

And you thought all you had to do was come up with a name and this web thing would be easy! Wrong! (not really, it is a simple yet complex program). The question now is who do I get to host my site. Remember that a good hosting package will run you around $25 a month.

Now, as of the 1st of January, our original question "Customized Website or Template Website", is a no brainer. You see Google, Yahoo, MSN, and all the other search engines hate duplicated content.

They are constantly banning sites that have duplicated content. On the 1st of January, Google slapped thousands of website templates. Why you ask? Every template is duplicated thousands of times over the net. Sure the info may be different, but the template is a duplication.

Why is all this important and what does it really mean? It means that your site if created with a template will never be optimized, meaning you will not be in the top 10 of any search engine. Your (template site) is a duplicated website in the eyes of the search engines.

Now you know that the only way to be optimized on the web is to have a customized website, but who do you get to build this site for you and just how much is it going to cost you? I have that answer as well for you. The company I use is not only willing to build your site, but they will host your site and even pay for your domain name. All you have to do is pay for your hosting and create (type up) what you want your site to say.

How much do they charge you ask? I have paid in excess of $5,000 for some of my sites, but I don't mind paying that because they do an excellent job. However, Randall and his team are offering to all new hosting clients a Free Customized Website. You heard that right, for a limited time they are offering do give you a customized website for free, host it, and pay for your domain.

Randall does not like Google and since they slapped so many websites that were templates, Randall is feeling sorry for these people and offering his services for free to get them back up and running. I talked to him the other day and he said that he is offering this for a limited time and that he would not be able to offer too long or he will be out of business. So you need to reserve your spot while you can.

Now you have all the answers and a contact for the customized website. The question is now, what are you going to do now. You need to take action...that is what you do now!
