The Award Programs

Award programs are programs implemented and observed in organizations such as schools, offices, government services and the military. They seek to give recognition to individuals who did not just perform the duties expected of them, but performed their tasks in exemplary fashion over a specific period of time, contributing greatly to the success of the organization and the attainment of the goals set by the management. This type of reward system in practice in society is one of the oldest and most commonly used forms of recognizing excellence and outstanding achievement.

Many individuals get exposed to award programs early on in life, as awards are given as early as the first year of school. Students who excel in class in a certain subject or field are given awards for their good performance. Some awards are also given for those who excel in extracurricular activities that give the school honor as well. These include winning at sports or athletic meets, theatre shows, subject competitions such as spelling bees, science fairs, and math quiz bees.

Even when school is over, individuals can still get a taste of awards programs via their place of employment or private organizations and groups that they join. Individuals can be qualified for certain awards such as "Employee of the month" and the like, and may eventually win. Those who join the army and do well while serving their respective countries are also exposed to award programs.

Different award programs categorize the awards that are given to their employees. Some awards involve recognition for those individuals who have been with a company or organization for a significant length of time. These awards involve an individual's loyalty and dedication for the company or organization that they are a part of. Some awards are based on performance regardless of the length of stay of individuals within the company or organization.

Many manufacturing companies all around the world dedicate themselves to coming up with the awards for different awards programs. Production of award lapel pins, trophies, medals to the more expensive award rings and high-end watches are just some of the kinds of awards that are made available.
