Tattoo Shops Finding a good one
By: Steven McCarthy
Tattoo shops are opening everywhere. The interest in body art has been rising steadily for the last twenty years. All shops are not equal, and you had better find out as much as you can before you put your skin on the line.
Good tattoo artist's will foster a real relationship between themselves's and their client very similar to that of your hair stylist and his or her customer. A high level of confidence must be achieved with an air of professionalism. There is a definite difference between the kind of quality you will find among the various shops and it pays to be well informed.
A high quality tattoo parlor will cost more, but you'll notice the difference in professionalism as soon as you walk in. The whole place will feel clean and sanitary yet make you feel comfortable like your just hanging out.
Remember the old saying "you get what you pay for" well when it comes to getting inked it could not be truer. A really great tattoo parlor will offer fantastic designs not available elsewhere, but the comforting knowledge that the place is sanitary and your safety is their number one concern is truly the mark of a professionally run business you can feel good about trusting. They are usually dressed very casually, but one look around will tell you their hygienic practices.
Quality tattoo shops have a strict set of codes regulating their sanitary conditions for their customers peace of mind. The US Department of Health states all blood born pathogens and instruments must be properly disposed of. Each artist must maintain the cleanliness of their station and the comfort of their customers. All tattoo artist's should be properly licensed with their licence displayed in a prominent place in full view of the general public.
Another great suggestion when looking for a good place to get your tattoos and piercing's is to do a online search to check if there have been any lawsuits filed against the artist. When shop owners start getting careless customers are at risk and lawsuits begin. There was a lawsuit brought against a shop owner recently where the customer was infected with a flesh eating bacterium by the use of unsanitary equipment.
You should pick a shop in a safe area. Sanitary conditions are easier to maintain in a clean safe environment. A smart way to think of it is would you feel safe walking down the street. If you need company to get in to the shop how safe are you going to be with their needle stuck in your skin. If the tattoo shop owner does not care about the neighborhood their shop is located in, how much do they care about you. Exceptions do happen so do some investigating.
Even the best tattoo gun will not make a shop successful. Your artist needs to take into their consideration all safety and sanitary practices to ensure the customers satisfaction with their new tattoo without risking infection. It takes twenty happy customers to make up the damage caused by one customers bad word of mouth experience. So you can see why taking good care of their customers should be a tattoo shops main concern.
