Tanning Mishaps Can Bring Customers To Your Tanning Salon

Some individuals only decide that a tanning salon is the best place for them to go in order to get a deep, dark color that they love. They often try out other methods and that just doesn't work well for them. In fact, their hard efforts may result in them have tanning experiences that they will never forget. They won't be funny initially but hopefully they will be able to laugh about them later on.
Yet these types of tanning mishaps should be viewed as opportunities for you to generate more business. You already know they are interested in getting a great tan and if you help them out they will be more likely to start tanning in your salon. They will never forget how you helped them and that gives you credibility. It also can lead to them becoming a loyal customer.
One of the most common problems is that people who are fair skinned turn red instead of brown. While you can't change that color for them magically you can provide them with adequate information. You can explain that they need to use a tanning bed or booth for only a few minutes each day. They also need to use moisturizers and tanning enhancer products that you can sale to them.
They may benefit from a few minutes in a tanning bed or a tanning booth. They should have the right tanning enhancement products as well. Of course if you offer sunless tanning then they may find this is one of the very best ways for them to get the color they want without any more red skin. They will still need to be careful in the natural sunlight but at least they can be happy with some other alternatives as well.
Many people are in a hurry to get a tan for a special occasion. Instead of planning ahead and getting started on their base tan at a salon they purchase an over the counter product. You can't go to prom or on vacation with orange looking skin or a streaked tan on your legs. It can be very upsetting as well as frustrating.
The first order of business is to let them know you can help. They need to remove as much of the fake tanning product as possible. Explain that they need to exfoliate with some lemon juice added to soap and water. Once they have done so they can come in for a sunless tan from a booth you have or even an airbrushing process.
Try to schedule them an appointment later that day to get in. If you are completely booked tell them that you will stay later so they can get it done or even offer them an appointment first thing in the morning if possible. They are going to want to improve their look as quickly as possible. This is also a great opportunity for your to promote sunless tanning products you offer that do work.
Taking the time to help people fix their common tanning mistakes is important. Don't have the attitude that it isn't your problem or that you are too busy taking care of your current customers. You will often find helping such individuals is a very simple way to increase the number of regular customers your tanning salon business has.
