THE POWER OF CREDIT CONSOLIDATION

By: Molly Deuda

A majority of people face financial difficulties at some time in their lives. These range from annoyances to severely impacting life. We can’t predict the future, and a monetary crisis can occur when we least expect it. Consolidation is becoming an ever more popular way of healing a poor credit rating. The benefits include stopping the annoying telephone calls, being able to sleep again, and having the reassurance of knowing that your bills are being paid.

Too often bankruptcy is being used to wipe out debt, but credit consolidation is a more practical solution. Most areas have businesses who’s sole purpose is to help solve financial worries. Visiting a trained consultant may be just what you need to learn how to manage your credit.

If you decide to try credit consolidation, you’ll find that those in the business will have better luck negotiating with your creditors than you will on your own. They usually can get lower interest rates and get rid of late fees. These things alone will lower your debt and allow for a lower and more affordable monthly payment.

Using these services doesn’t carry the stigma you might expect. Most creditors see it as a legitimate way of debt reduction, and will see you as someone working hard to clean up your credit report. All three of the primary credit agencies will take this as a positive step, and you can settle your debts in one third of the time it would have taken you on your own. Not only will those harassing phone calls stop, but you’ll be out of debt quicker, your record will look good, and you’ll be on your way to rebuilding your financial stability.
