If you are already sharing your views, opinions, and random facts on your personal blog just for fun and love it, then why not turn that hobby into something even more useful and learn how to make money online blogging? I'm about to share some great tips on how you can do just that!
Niche.
It's always nice to have a variety of readers, but you will want to specialize in one area. Focusing on one subject will set you apart from other writers. When starting up a blog you want to think about what type of readers that you will be reaching out to.
Content.
Once you have figured out whom you are writing for, choosing a topic to write about should be easy. Write about what you know and what matters to your viewers. Always make sure that what you have to offer to your readers is of value and importance in order to keep your readers yearning for more. Having long-term readers, in my opinion, is far more superior to having new readers who come and go. Don't get me wrong all readers are of importance.
Appearance.
You're probably thinking that having readers and superb content is all you need to have a great blog. Wrong. You have about three seconds to grab the attention of your reader, so when they link to your site and find a boring black and white text page, chances are they'll leave right away regardless that you have interesting posts or not. Especially for new bloggers but, this does not apply to everyone.
Respond.
Your audience values your content, that's why they leave comments, show some appreciation by returning the favor and respond to what they have to say. Turn your negative feedback into something positive, reply to these readers as well and thank them for their honesty and opinion. Criticism can only make you stronger. Make your replies personal by leaving a sincere message to each individual. That way, your reader will not feel like just another reader, but a valued one.
Last but not the least...
Enjoy.
Don't let your blog get you tied up on what you need to do to make it the 'best'. This can result to stress! Try not to impress your reader's too much; they will come to you in time. Just have fun with it, and do what you do best, write.
