Before you create a blog, think about the type of things that you would like to write about. Write about topics that would appeal to your readers. This is what you would consider your 'niche'. As a blogger you want to grab all types of audiences, but you also want to provide a specific service that makes you unique from all other bloggers.
Content.
After choosing what type of readers you want to aim for, you need to provide these readers with information that is of use and interest to them. Anyone can write, but you need to make sure that the quality of your content is worth the read. Your knack for writing is what will bring your readers back, and hopefully these spectators will be loyal and stay with you.
First Impression.
You need to consider the impression that you want to give to your readers. I know your writing should speak for itself, but the look of your blog is the first thing that your audience will see when they go visit, so you need to make sure that it is appealing to your reader. A lot of people base their decision on the look of things, being able to make an impact on them from first point of contact is great. Besides, making your blog presentable is a way to express your personality.
Respond.
When your readers appreciate what you have and they leave a comment, follow-up with them. Make it personable by either emailing or leaving a comment back on their blog. Not just a generic one, take the time to leave a genuine comment. Remember that word of mouth is the best advertisement. When your readers know that you take the time for them, they will let others know whom you are.
Finally...
Don't Stress.
Making money from home should be fun to do since you are in the comforts of your own home. Blogging is just the same, writing about the things you like. Don't let the pressures of the very successful bloggers out there take you down, you too can do it just try not to think so hard about it. Go with the flow, enjoy what you do and in time you will flourish.
