Should you spend your money on Brazilian Hair Straightening

By: Marcy Givens

Are you getting sick and tired of having to deal with your curly, wavy or kinky hair? Are you looking for a way to get rid of your frizzes? Perhaps you should consider having your hair straightened using the Brazilian straightening method. I have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you get started.

The biggest question most women have about Brazilian Hair Straightening is it safe for your hair. The answer is of course, yes. In fact, if you have damage to your hair it can help repair it. It will lock in any previous hair coloring treatment and make your hair shiny and silky.

Usually the second question women think about is will it work on my messed up hair. We all have different hair types and of course this is a common question. It will work on virtually any hair type. You should speak to your salon first though because not all of them will take clients with all hair types.

The third more frequent question is about value. We all want to know how long the treatment will last. Well, if you treat your hair before getting it straightened with this method (coloring or perm for example) you will typically have straight hair for 4 months. If your hair has not been treated (also called virgin hair) the results will last for around 2 months.

Most people also want to know how they should care for their treated hair. After your treatment you can wash and shampoo your hair as normal as long as the shampoo does not contain sulfates or sodium chloride. And if you wanted to, you can even curl your treated hair.

Last and certainly not least, many women what to know how much Brazilian hair straightening costs. Prices for this service usually range from $100 to $200. There is a big price gap for 2 reasons. First, depending you the condition, length and texture of your hair, it will take more work to get it straight. Second, there are no standards and the salons can charge as much as they want so you should shop around a bit to get the best deal.

These are the most common questions about Brazilian hair straightening treatments. Of course, one simple article cannot possibly answer every question you have. So, if you are still interested in this method you could contact a few salons near to where you live and arrange for a no cost appointment either in person or over the phone.
