SOS - my town is drowning in rubbish!
By: goodfred
Since I am doing this already for decades it became a kind of ritual to relax for me.
In the city I stroll around with friends or just by my own. Our way leads us along shop-windows, through parks or e.g. along the riverside of the town.
Our town is offering a lots of possibilities to spend a nice evening for everybody´s taste an mood.
These evenings mostly end up in a nice cafeteria, restaurant or bar for late delicious “sun-dawn” snack or drink. The places where I/we are dropping in are changing every time because our town can offer a big variety fo nice places.
This ritual is practiced now by me and my company for many, many years, since it became to everybody of us a kind of secure possibility to relax from your daily working day.
But thing in the same nice enviroment seem to change with the time.
In the last years, especially in the summer time when the weather is nice, I/we can regard that the waste in the city of the town is constantly increasing dramatically.
From week to week the visitor of the city is confronted with a bigger amount of broken bottles, empty pizza-boxes, etc.! Close to the frequent fast food chains the scenario I even much more worse – not even empty boxes, also left food like chips and half eaten burgers. All thrown away by people who seem not to care a bit about her environment. Even the public waste paper baskets seem to be a problem for this kind of people, because they don´t throw their rubbish inside them but around them!
In addition one other thing is jumping in the visitor´s eyes:
Gaggles of youngsters are taking over the park including all the public posibilities of sitting down offered by the communities. They are many time behaving loud and quite rude, so that older people are frightened about having a walk through these nice relaxing places.
The consequence is that the times are rare you meet by chance older people in these places!
Do the younger people know why it is like this and that this circumtance is mostly to them???
