Who else is affected by the credit crunch? The local used car salesman. Given that people are having trouble obtaining loans from banks, even those with good credit, car sales are at a record low. Who can think of buying a new car in the current crisis, right?
The good news for the used cars salesman is that people will be seeking cars that they know they can afford and that they can pay cash for. Amazingly enough people are opting for less expensive used cars to pay cash for because they are fearful of banks. They donat want to get a loan.
This is band new for banks and new car salesman, but it could spark a competitive market for used cars salesman. The only hurdle to overcome is the reputation that has stained the used car sales industry for years. You know what I am talking about.
The trick to selling cars is not dishonesty. Being dishonest with buyers about car condition may have been profitable in the past, but it will not work with the car buyers of today. They are more knowledgeable and they are fed up.
The internet can be the used car salesman worst enemy of best friend. Many potential buyers search the internet before they purchase a car. They want to see gas mileage and potential costs. If the used car salesman does not know the information then a potential buyer could turn away from that salesman.
Selling used cars is a finical business. The salesman has to treat the buyer with respect and handle their needs carefully. The slightest disagreement could make the buyer go someplace else. With the market the way it is, the car salesman does not want to lose potential buyers.
A good used car salesman will be able to decipher the thoughts and intentions of a potential buyer. This skill is good to have because it will allow the car salesman to meet the needs of the buyer. Understanding the potential buyeras needs will also allow for a better business connection.
The good news is that there is training available. There are car salesman books with car salesman secrets available. With the proper training, you could increase sales. Even in the middle of a national economic crisis. This may be the best time for you sell your used cards.
