Procedures and Face Lift Costs

By: Hispanic

Do you want to regain your youthful appearance? There's one sure-fire solution to solve all your beauty regimen woes --- why, with a face lift of course! A face lift is a medical surgery aimed at bringing back youth, softness and rejuvenation to your face. It stretches the skin and removes excess skin and repositions saggy facial tissues. It has been practiced for more than a hundred years and is one of the most request beauty surgical procedure around.

Despite its popularity, most people still fear going to a cosmetic doctor for a face lift. Despite its advantages, there are many drawback as well such as the long and painful recovery period, the excruciating side effects and of course, the high cost of fixing your face. Why such a high cost? The factors that affect the high cost of this medical procedure are the experience of the surgeon, region of availability, type, and the extent of the procedure.

The surgeon gets the biggest chunk of the fee. Face lifts require highly-advanced skills so the more experienced the doctor is, the higher the fee gets. The region for instance plays a big role in the costing. In the United States for instance, face lift costs range from $6,000 to $15,000. On the other hand, in the United Kingdom, it costs 4,200 to 5,800.

The extent and type of the procedure is also crucial in determining the costs. Patients with dryer facial skin have to undergo more difficult and longer procedures than the usual. If the face lift takes longer to perform and is more complex, the more expensive the price will be. Some patients prefer mixed treatments combing face lifts with plastic surgeries. Costs can go up to $20,000 to $25,000.

If you find traditional face lifts too expensive, you can opt for more less expensive non-surgical procedures. Botox, an injectable face lift method, can cost $400 to $500 dollars per session. Thermage, another non-surgical face lift procedure, costs $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the treatment. However, these non-surgical procedure's effects can last for a shorter time than the traditional face lift.
