Prison Break Star Discusses Life Amidst Strike
By: Groshan Fabiola
It was previously reported that the cast and crew of Prison Break concluded the production of the last available script in Dallas , Texas . Now that all the work is done, they're off to having a free schedule, and for series actor Wade Williams, it also means having to put everyday living on a tighter budget and trying to look for other projects to keep him busy.
"My instinct is that this strike could go on for a while — the stakes are high and the players are dug in," the 45-year-old actor, who plays Brad Bellick on Prison Break, wrote on the show's TV Guide blog. "I'm just gonna save my dough and hopefully get a gig in the mean time. We'll see what the future brings. It's not time to worry yet."
Moreover, Williams has decided to stay in Dallas , Texas , since his daughter is attending school there. The other cast and crew, however, opted to move out of their apartments, since production will resume on an indefinite date.
Wade Williams also added that they still have five new episodes to look forward to, and hopes that this could at least console the fans who have been deprived of their favorite show due to the writers' strike.
"In the USA , they will begin airing the new episodes on January 14, 2008, and continue them into February. I'm not sure what the foreign airdates will be," Williams explained. He also said that this season was his favorite "so far — despite my wardrobe and the brutal prison SONA — with all the new complicated characters, the unimaginable deaths. I think it's been Prison Break at it's ruthless best."
While Prison Break is taking a hiatus, rumors have circulated that a spin-off featuring female counterparts of the Fox River convicts will be taken to production, but the network has not confirmed these talks yet. Despite this, Williams seems to like the idea, and is in full support of it.
"We have been hearing rumors about a spin off called Prison Break: Cherry Hill about a women's prison," he revealed. "The rumors going as far as whispering that they were looking for the lead female actor for the show! I don't know how true any of them are, but it sounds like a cool idea to me."
