Natural Remedies for hair loss

By: Sarah Rowe

There is no easy cure for hair loss, no matter what people tell you. Many natural treatments do work; you will have to try them for yourself to know exactly what will work best for you. Here are a few natural remedies to hair loss that you may want to try.

1. Aloe Vera - This has been used by both Native Americans and also the peoples of the Caribbean to help with promoting healthy hair and to prevent hair loss. It does this by helping to heal the scalp and balances the pH level. A common way to use this is to combine it with some coconut milk and a bit of wheat germ oil and use it as a shampoo.

2. Henna - this is a traditional herb used by the Indian people as a natural conditioner, it has the added benefit of helping to maintain healthy hair. It works to help protect the hair from breaking and loss of shine; it does this by healing the shafts.

3. Polysorbate-80 - This is actually an FDA Approved surfactant, and also approved to be used as a food additive. This is a bit unproven, it is said to be able to remove some deposits of cholesterol and also DHT from the scalp. Some naturopathic practitioners are recommending this be applied to the scalp 15 minutes before you shampoo.

4. Detoxification - A detox can help improve overall health of the body. How it can help with hair loss or growing hair is that some toxins can accumulate in the body and when you do a cleanse or detox it helps to remove these.

5. Psyllium Husk - We all know that fiber is vital to proper colon health and is crucial to making the digestive system work how it is supposed too. This is considered to be a bulking laxative agent that will help to safely remove the waste that has built up in the colon.

6. Exercise - This is important for helping to keep the body healthy. This works indirectly to help grow hair by increasing blood flow around the body and also helps with digestion of foods. Even though it is indirect, it still helps keep the hair follicles healthy.

Your results will very considering with how these will help with hair loss. It is recommended that you treat the underlying cause of the condition. Do not discount natural methods, as they have been proven effective. I would suggest that you try taking a supplement to help with your hair loss as this will help to determine if your diet is the cause, and in most people, that is the case.
