Natural Cures for Hair Loss
By: Sarah Rowe
There are many hair loss remedies that you will find online and offline. One thing to keep in mind while looking at these is that one solution will not cure all types of hair loss and that you may need to try more than one to find what will work best for you. In addition, you should take into consideration that a hair loss plan should be long term, 6 or 12 months into the future, it may take that long to see results. Here are 6 natural remedies to hair loss.
1. Massage - If you massage the scalp for a few minutes a day this can help to stimulate and improve blood flow going to the hair follicles. You may even find that in minor cases this will help to stimulate some hair growth.
2. Aromatherapy - You will want to make a blend of 4 ounces of one of the following oils - almond, sesame, or soybean and to this you will add 6 drops of both lavender and also bay essential oils. You will take this mixture and apply it to the scalp, gently massaging, and then you leave this for 20 minutes on the scalp. This technique is used by aroma therapists with helping in the stimulation of the scalp.
3. Saw Palmetto - This is helpful in that it helps to lower the levels of DHT in the body in both male and females. It is known that DHT is a leading cause of Androgenetic Alopecia, a major form of male and female pattern baldness.
4. Nettle Root - The extracts from the nettle root are a good source of both vitamins C and A, and sever other minerals and lipids that are helpful to hair growth and health. This has been known in Europe to work as a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor, a leading cause of hair loss
5. Sage and Rosemary - These two herbs are useful when applied externally. How you would go about this would be to create a liquid out of a few different herbs, these would be sage, rosemary, peach leaf, nettle root all in water and boiled together. You would then strain the liquid from the loose herbs and wash your hair with the liquid daily.
6. Jojoba Oil - This is a traditional Mexican and southwestern native American remediy that they used for dandruff and hair growth. It is also helpful with other conditions such as eczema, seborrhea, psoriasis, and dandruff. One other benefit is that it is a natural moisturizer and will not irritate hypoallergenic skin.
There are many natural cures for hair loss and you will want to try what you feel comfortable with. Whatever you decide to try you should not delay in finding a method to treat your hair loss.
