Managing PPC And Affiliate Marketing
By: Kirt Christensen
How can you utilize payperclick and affiliate marketing strategies to accumulate wealth? You can accomplish this by doing more than just send traffic on to your affiliates for a commission, you have to expand your assets at the same time.
While going through the process of getting visitors to your site, have a 'product' of you own available for your customers, something individual to your site. Compile contact information from these visitors as often as possible. Then point them in your affiliate's direction.
Customarily, if 5 or 6 years produces a 'custom', affiliate partners have put out ad banners or link exchanges, paid for ppc traffic and others, and then sent that traffic to the affiliate hoping for sales that he can get commissions from.
These are what we call 'bitslingers". The purchase traffic and take the money from the affiliate but don't do anything else. They don't improve the quality of the internet mixture. They just broker clicks and that is it. Don't want to be just a bitslinger? Create something of use a list of clients that you can interact with over and over again.
What could you do to take a valuable product and add some value of your own to it? Here are some suggestions:
Offer a tutorial.
Do a substantive teleseminar on a topic that would be a natural, unassuming segue to the affiliate product or service that you're promoting.
Advertise a free e-course related to the affiliate product then offer the affiliate product through it.
Make available at no cost a guide or reference 'paper' on the subject.
If you're promoting multiple competing programs, offer to show people a price and quality comparison and let them choose for themselves.
Create audio recordings on the subject.
Sponsor a contest.
Furnish some type of downloadable software.
It is important that you refrain from screaming, "buy this!" to your customers. Give them something they can use to improve their business or life then they will want to see what product you are offering.
There was a time when you could run to Google, buy clicks, and send them through your own affiliate link straight to your host's web site. Successful affiliate hosts loved this, because it meant they could very well dominate their market as almost every Google ad on the page promoted their web site.
Google saw things differently. Stranglehold setups like that ruined the whole experience of using AdWords and made Google look bad. So in early 2005, it put a stop to it. The policy now is that only one advertiser per display URL can show up on any one page of AdWords listings.
The upshot of this is that your ads can be shown on the same Google Result page as your affiliates ads. They aren't allowed to send the traffic directly to your website.
Because of this it is necessary for you to produce a more complex and content rich website for it to outlast the competition. This rich website will produce good results all around. Your site adds content to the internet and your traffic adds to your database of clients.
