Learning a new language may not be the easier task but it is richly rewarding. Not only is it rewarding but the language learning programs available to us now make learning much easier.
As you think about how you would like to learn to speak Italian you might want to consider how you learn best. Do you learn more from listening, watching, interacting or a combination of any or all of these methods?
You might learn better interacting in a group, you might find listening to an audio program works great or maybe you want a combination of interaction, listening and watching. Either way there are programs that will provide what you want.

In the past learning a foreign language often meant sitting in a class. This approach has worked many people still recall a few words of German or French from High School. But is this approach the best way to learn?

Another way to learn Italian would be to pack your bags and live in Italy for a year. If you go out and practice talking with the locals every day you are very likely to learn a lot of Italian.

Immersion is still a great way to learn another language. Not only that but you will also come to know the culture very well - a very rewarding experience.

If your preference is for an audio style of learning you will find many options to suite your needs. Just set aside 30 minutes to an hour each day and you will find that you are learning Italian quickly.
The audio only programs may not seem as effective as the programs that offer video, pictures and audio but they definitely can be as good or better. But again consider your learning style before you make your decision on a product.
The audio only approach will immerse you in short conversations as you learn. You will be able to listen and respond back. So you get interaction via your response to the audio questions and prompts. As you continue the conversations become more complex.
Learning Italian with Multimedia Programs
These programs have all the bells and whistles. Many of them are software programs that you can use it on your computer. If you have a laptop you can easily learn Italian where ever you are.
By combining all the learning styles you are sure to hit the one that works best for you. This style of learning can be both fun and engaging. But you will be tied to a computer. The Audio programs give the most flexibility as you can listen to them virtually anywhere.
You will find in these programs all the knowledge we have learned about teaching language brought together into one amazing program.
In Conclusion
You will need to decide which learning style will fit your needs best. But since most of us are so busy these new audio and multimedia learning programs offer the most flexibility as you learn to speak Italian. Yet with any program you will only learn if you follow the program. Follow the program and you will be speaking the language very soon.
