Knowing When Low Blood Pressure Readings Can Be Serious

Understanding the difference between low blood pressure readings ( hypotension) and high blood pressure (hypertension) can be confusing, the two medical terms sound very similar. Although they are complete opposites both have serious medical consequences.

Are you worried about low blood pressure, like so many of us it can be a little unsettling to discover, there is no need to get upset unless your developing symptoms such as blurred vision, nausea, dizziness or fainting . You should not worry . Most doctors agree having low blood pressure is a good indication of having a healthy cardiovascular system. What Are Some Of The Triggers

Anemia can accompany low blood pressure and is most noticed when you quickly stand from a sitting position. Anemia can start from an iron deficiency, low blood volume or excessive bleeding. A rather rare form of hypotension is postprandial hypotension and usually occurs about an hour after eating. This form of hypotension is linked to the digestive system which requires increased blood flow during digestion and the bodies inability to compensate for the increased draw on your already low blood pressure readings.

A simple way to test for this at home would be to test your blood pressure by checking your blood pressure while seated and then again after quickly but safely standing. If you experience symptoms of fainting are feel like you may have been close to it you may be experiencing neurocardiogenic syncope Which is a sudden drop in blood pressure causing low blood pressure.
