Knowing What the Patients Want is the Foundation for High Quality Cosmetic Dentistry

By: Jayden Adams

Patients with deteriorating teeth or poor gums or who just want a better smile are taking advantage of the new upgrades in cosmetic dentistry. The look of the mouth and smile can be altered to their wishes. Dr. Paul O’Malley, Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist, considers that finding what smile makeover the patient really needs and wants is key to high quality work. Using the new high-tech tools along with high-quality materials that are biocompatible, is important, as long as the dentist knows what the patient wants to look like in the end.

Digital Cosmetic Imaging shows each patient a computerized split image photograph of his or her smile. On one side of the screen is their current smile and on the other side is a digital simulation of what their smile will look like after the cosmetic dentistry has been completed, allowing a clear-cut decision on work to be done.

One thing that is always wanted is a natural look with an exact match to existing teeth. This office uses the Shade Vision System to correctly adjust coloring to perfection. This system reads off the variations of hue, value, and color of each tooth to map the shade of the porcelain restoration exactly. “I am certain that I can get a perfectly natural match with the Shade Vision camera.”, Dr. O’Malley explains. “And with the high quality materials we use, this color match will last for years. Crowns and veneers look completely natural, creating a beautiful smile.”

Cosmetic dentistry handles the modification of the look of a smile, having to do with how the teeth and gums look in terms of the length, shape, color, alignment and proportion. This is made possible with porcelain and composite tooth colored materials perfectly designed to intimately match the existing tooth structure.

Dr. O’Malley explains, “With cosmetic imaging you can see the future of your smile makeover before you begin. Also, we have a personal lab so we can customize your smile with any of those last minute adjustments you desire, instantly. My objective is to help my patients achieve their dental goals with long term predictable results using biologically compatible materials. I look to answer positively to the following: Was it completed in the most efficient and comfortable manner possible? Does it look and feel great? And by using the highest quality materials, will it last?”

Beverly Hills cosmetic dentist, Dr. Paul O’Malley, previously led the field of cosmetic dentistry in West Texas for 15 years then relocated to Southern California seven years ago, totaling 22 years of polished skills creating beautiful smiles. Dr. O’Malley is located in the dental offices of Beverly Hills Cosmetic Dentist, Kourosh Maddahi at 436 N. Roxbury Drive, Suite 202 and can be reached at 310-888-7797.
