However, the rates of many of the best hotels and resorts around are definitely not in the low or even middle budget area. What do you do, then, if you want to save some money the next time you go on vacation?

Timeshares is one of the best solution when you want to go on a vacation, specially when you are on a tight budget. When owning a vacation property, timeshare lets you have it without having to pay the actual property cost. What varies is that you still co-own the property while you spend less, a simple example of this would be like in a corporation. Timeshare lets you buy the property wherein you can use it for a certain period of time or have it rented out.

How exactly do timeshares work? Just like stock in a corporation, you can buy a specified amount of timeshares. Depending on how much of a share of the property you own, you get a specific "share" of time to use the property every month or year. For example, you may have bought a timeshare that lets you use a cottage in the mountains for two weeks every year. You can enjoy your two weeks in the cottage, or you can rent or sell it off to somebody else.

One advantage to having timeshare is that, you don't have to spend on maintenance and taxes for a year and still be able to enjoy it. You have somebody to share all this taxes, repairs and other expenses. You don't even have to buy the whole property, whats good about timeshare is that, you share the expenses so you save more and still be able to spend your dream vacation.
