Increase Website Traffic Using Offline Tactics
By: Steve Cowan
Sometimes, if the internet forms and integral part of your every day life, it can be very easy to lose sight of the fact that this is not the case for everyone, and that many people do not find most of their information or resources online.
Maybe these folks use the net in their daily business and for email, and perhaps even occasionally shop online, but if you want your business and your promotional messages to reach them, then you must look at working offline
Thee are many different ways that you can do this. Undoubtedly, some methods of targeting such a market will work better than others, and this will. to some extent at least, depend on the product that you are working with.
In particular, as you will soon see, offline advertising combined with online business 'savvy' can be particularly effective at local market levels.
However, almost all offline techniques share many common characteristics, and the good news is they all tend to share a common purpose with the majority of online promotional techniques as well. That is, everything is going to be aimed at getting your businesses name and message in front of as many people as you can, as regularly and as often as you can too.
Sales people often use the phase 'It's just a numbers game' to describe what they do.
So, the more people that see the message that you want them to see, this will eventually equal more visitors to your sales website, and that then leads to more sales the same way that night follows day.
It does not matter what your product is, from pens to cars to furniture, company names, brand logos, and web sites addresses appear everywhere.
Some organizations have been so efficient at creating a brand image that people will actually pay to wear it! Levi's, for example, is one very good example of this.
You should not, however, believe that only large multi-million dollar corporations can successfully brand their products in this way. It can work on a local level too.
For example, where I live there is a small, franchised food chain that regularly gives away promotional T-shirts. And, it would be difficult to find anybody in the town who does not have a few of these shirts lying around somewhere.
No matter where you go in town, you are almost guaranteed to see someone wearing one of these shirts. I have even seen first-time visitors to the town arrive wearing them already!
And guess what happens? Everyone knows this store as the primary sports goods supplier in the town (whether that is true or not matters little) and anyone new soon gets the picture as well.
Branding therefore clearly works just as well at local levels as it does on a national and international stage. Of course, you must sure that you choose the correct product or service to use to promote your business, but this should not really be that difficult, given the variety of companies who sells such promotional products online.
Added to this is the fact that all of these companies are competing for your business, and you can therefore be confident that their products available to suit any objectives or budget.
