Ignatius Piazza, Shooting School Founder, Congratulates Student On Standing Up To U.S. Supreme Court and DC

By: Jayden Adams

Ignatius Piazza is the founder and director of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the nation's biggest, most successful gun-training academy. Every year, Front Sight delivers firearms training to more students than all other major shooting schools in the nation combined. Part of Ignatius Piazza's philosophy at Front Sight is that gun training means responsibility. Although Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza usually intend for that to apply to gun use, every now and then, a student like George Lyon proves that the responsibility gained through a place like Front Sight puts a person into position to be a better citizen. Ignatius Piazza noted and congratulated Lyon in a newsletter read by tens of thousands of people, for Lyon's decision to fight the District of Columbia's handgun ban, right up to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Front Sight, with part of Ignatius Piazza's philosophy, "Duty to Serve" and "Exchange in Abundance", considers it part and parcel to leave a student of gun training more able, more responsible and more effective after they're finished with one of Front Sight's firearms training courses. But in the case of George Lyon, an attorney from the District of Columbia, even Ignatius Piazza was impressed. George Lyon took his training as an attorney and his firearms training from Front Sight and combined them to demand from the District of Columbia that things change with D.C.'s handgun ban. So emphatic is Lyon that the U.S. Supreme Court is now viewing a case on D.C.'s handgun ban - a case so important that many are calling it the District of Columbia's most important law case and the most important Second Amendment case taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court in over seventy years.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight are excited by Lyon's activities in the District of Columbia and with the U.S. Supreme Court. But it's not just Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight who are excited and moved: more and more media sources are realizing how incredibly important this case is to the Second Amendment rights which Americans have been beginning to disregard the importance of. American history is riddled with examples of some state or local legislature thinking 'it knows best', and almost getting away with completely infringing upon God-given rights, and it taking one citizen who knows it's wrong and won't tolerate it. The U.S. Supreme Court has been on the side of wisdom and liberty before, there's no reason to think now will be any different.

Another group who is most likely paying closer and closer attention to this case is the group of presidential candidates. The U.S. Supreme Court has announced it should have it's decision before January 2008, which is right in the middle of one of the most important times of the presidential race.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight, commanding an audience base of tens of thousands, through their extensive list of students, have made their pride in their student, George Lyon, obvious. Firearms training had a profound influence on Lyon, and now thanks in large part to him, the U.S. Supreme Court will be ruling on whether or not a local government can restrict a citizen's right to bear a firearm in his own home.
