How to get more customers for your bed & breakfast

It is vital to the success of your bed & breakfast business for you to spread the word. Not everyone is familiar with these types of establishments so they pass them over for hotels. Why not encourage them to stay at your business instead? There are plenty of different ways you can advertise your business. The internet is one of the most successful because people use it all the time for their travel plans.

It doesn't cost a fortune to get a quality website up and running. If you have some basic skills you may be able to make it on your own. You can also hire a decent student or freelancer to take care of it for you. This will cost you some money but you will reap the benefits of it later.

Make sure your website includes plenty of pictures of the business. People like to know what it is going to look like so take the time to offer this information. It can make the difference between someone making a reservation and deciding not to. The unknown is something many people just don't deal with very well.

Hotels are the biggest competition for a bed & breakfast business so think like they do when it comes to advertising. Use all the same sources so that people will find your information when they are looking for a place to stay. They may not have even thought about a bed & breakfast but once they see your ad they will likely change their mind and go for it instead of a regular hotel room.

You will do yourself a great injustice is you pass up local advertising. Even though most of the people that live in your area aren't going to stay there themselves, they have a powerful influence over others that will. They may be looking for the perfect place to put their friends or family up for the holidays or upcoming visits. Give them something unique that they can work with.

You can be sure many of your guests are going to tell others about your business. If you are taking care of things as you should all of these discussions will be very positive. One way to help ensure they do pass along your information is to give them discounts when they recommend other people to your business.

You can also extend offers to those that are regular guests. For example you can offer them the fifth night for free in any calendar year. You can also offer discounts for those that frequently stay with you. Do all you can to get people to be aware of what you have to offer.

You definitely need to get out there and find ways to generate more customers for your bed & breakfast. This is going to take time and dedication but it will pay off. You need to have an established budget for advertising though so you aren't just sitting there hoping someone will stumble upon your bed & breakfast.
