How To Clean Your Ugg Boots Correctly

So you have now managed to get yourself a pair of Ugg Boots! Unfortunately after wearing them for a while you will find that they start to lose that just new look and will need cleaning. Certainly one way of making sure that your boots remaining look good is by using a specialist cleaning product which has been designed for use on leather and suede items.

However if the cost of buying such cleaning products is somewhat prohibitive then you could carry out the following instead. Below are a number of steps to help you to clean your Ugg boots and get them back to their original condition when you took them out of the box for the first time.

Step 1 - Get a bowl of cold water and a sponge. Once you have dampened the sponge you then need to use this to wet the outside of the boot but do not make it so wet that you can feel water getting through to the inside. Ugg Boots which have been immersed in water will not only lose their shape but the lining inside will loose its comfort.

Step 2 - You need to get some leather cleaning solution and into a bowl you should put 1 part of this solution and the same amount of water. Ensure that the two are thoroughly mixed together and as you did with the water initially you need to rub this solution all over the boots.

Step 3 - Gently rub the cleaning solution over the boots and then immediately follow this up with another sponge which has been dipped in cold water once more. This will then rinse of any of the excess cleaning solution as well as help to remove the dirt.

Step 4 - After you have finished the above steps you now need to take some paper towels and stuff these into the boots. You can if you wish use newspaper instead as long as you stuff in enough so that the boots shape is retained. Then place them in a place to dry. Do not leave them either in direct sunlight or close to a heat source.

Step 5 - Once your Ugg boots have dried out completely you now take either a suede brush or a towel that is lint free and use this to restore the nap on the outside of the boot. If you want to deodorize the inside of your boot take 2 tsp of baking powder and 2 tspn of corn flour and sprinkle inside the boot. Shake the boots around then let them stand over night before you shake out any excess.
