How Do Squeeze Pages work?

By: James M. Crosswell

First let's talk what a squeeze page is. A basic squeeze page is a simple page that plays a powerful role in list building. They have played a vital role in how Internet marketing has evolved recently. In general they have massively increased traffic to their users' websites. Used correctly squeeze pages are a powerful tool in your internet marketing tool box.

A squeeze page is used to give your visitor a small overview of your website and what you are offering at the same time stimulating them to opt into your mailing list.

Squeeze pages usually consist of a web form used to gather information and relay it to your autoresponder. This will allow your autoresponder to send out preset emails to the person who has filled in their information.

It would be best to include an attractive headline and some content about what you are offering on your main website. The combination of these facets will hopefully entice your visitors to give you their information and get added to your mailing list.

Squeeze pages are meant to be nice looking and very smooth with the intent of having your visitor give you their information so you can send them something ranging from a piece of software or a free report that will be delivered by your autoresponder system automatically.

In a nutshell, you should have an enticing title on a good looking page that conveys to your visitor what you are offering them to sign up and how what you are offering will improve their life or business.

This will be the basis for you building your list. Your squeeze page offers something to get that email address and get them in your system so you can market to them sometime in the future.

In pursuing wealth in internet marketing, squeeze pages are a necessary part of your strategy. When your visitors opt in they are giving you permission to market to them via email and you will be avoiding any legitimate claims of SPAM. You will be offering them a way to opt out of your list when you use the more popular autoresponder systems.

The more popular autoresponders that you can use normally make you use the double opt in method for adding people to your mailing lists. Double opt in means your visitor will sign up on your page, this is opt in #1, and then receive a confirmation email with a link that they must click on to confirm they want to receive email from you, this it the opt in #2 making the whole process a double opt in process.

You will also want to consider using some tools to encrypt your squeeze page so the sneaky visitors don't try and get to your free product without signing up on your autoresponder. Most of the time you don't have to worry about this but it is good to know if it looks like you are not getting the subscription rate you think you should be getting.

I hope you are seeing the advantages of using squeeze pages when marketing your products and services. Now that you see this, you have to take steps to make this happen.

When your list starts growing you may get the itch to slam your subscribers with sales letters to try and make quick money. Try to avoid this by giving them useful information or things for free that they can use. Send your sales material to them sparingly. If you treat your subscribers right, you will see your list grow quickly and when you send out your offers you will get a good response that will amaze you. So you don't want to kill the goose that is going to be laying your golden eggs.
