How Can You Maintain Your List Of Subscribers
By: Joe Mateno
Creating a newsletter has many, many advantages. You'll be able to follow-up on current customers but also get potential customers interested and kick them off the fence.
Let's rephrase it a bit: Your subscribers list will help you promote anything and make you money. But make sure you don't promote crap. Build trust.
What to write about?
The goal is to turn potential customers into real customers. Simple but true.
First of all don't be boring. Write with some flair and passion while staying informative. And before you think this means boring you are very wrong! Also don't use hype. Don't be afraid to add your own personality in the mix (unless you have the personality of a coffee pot. In which case it's better to hire a writer).
Do you sell your own products? Keep them updates about discounts, free offers, a new product or whatever new thing you are coming out with. Anything to keep them interested is advised.
The newsletter itself
Exactly! Just keep it simple and make sure you never spam people.
You'll also want to avoid html. People do not like it and it will cause a lot of aggravation.
Keep sending your newsletter at a fixed time. Don't mail 6 days in a row, and then forget to mail for 2 weeks. People will not like it and it boosts your unsubscribe rate. And you want to boost your read rate and subscribe rate instead agreed?
Never ever forget to add a unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails. If they don't like your newsletter, let them op out of it. Don't stress about it.
This will save you a lot of spam complaints.
How should I promote it?
You definitely want people to read your messages right? But what is the correct way to go at it? After all, there are a million and one ways to do it.
The easiest way, by far, is probably ezine advertising. It works like this:
You simply spend some money, and you can either get a solo, classified, top or bottom sponsor ad. I would try to go for a solo ad as much as possible.
Make sure you contact the ezine owner at first and ask him or her any questions you got on your mind.
This male or female spent a lot of time building that readership. And making them responsive (your hope). And they'll simply give you an opportunity to tap into that list. Really I wouldn't even think twice about an opportunity like that.
A word of advise: Be independent and really build your list with those visitors. It's really a waste of traffic to send them to somebody else's list and leave LOTS of profits on the table.
After you send out this ezine broadcast, make sure you frequently check up on your stats. After all, you are paying for it so it's good to know which ezines are total crap, and which are worth focussing on.
