Horseback Riding in the Rocky Mountains
By: Andrew W John
In today's world, we run here and there, frantically trying to keep up with our busy work schedules. Work can be a bothersome mess, stress is part of daily life, et cetera. Relationships, too, may not provide solace and can be stressful themselves so that sometimes, you might just be hanging on by your fingernails. Where does all of our time flee to? With this kind of hassle to deal with on a daily basis, it's easy to forget who and what we are. However, we can find and center ourselves once again by doing things we enjoy.
However, we need serenity and peace of mind to function in our daily lives. There's no sense in just waiting for the next thing to happen without trying to calm down the frenzy we are already experiencing. If we do that, we've simply given into the stress we experience and the resulting confusion. If that happens, there's no telling what else will happen. Relationships will suffer, and so will work.
So what can you do in order to try and get back some of that - if just a small piece of sanity in an otherwise insane life. Nature has always been a great joy of mine. I find it quite soothing to walk among the trees and wildlife just taking all of God's creation in. It is a tremendous feeling to know that you are witness to a real miracle. What could make this miracle all the more pleasing and splendid then experiencing it with one of God's most beautiful creatures?
I find that horseback riding has a special feeling to it. There is a bit of joy and solace knowing that you are riding on top of a giant animal that has roamed free for hundreds of years. The horse is an animal that the American Indians have revered and lived in the presence of since they came into existence. Horses love, feel and work hard and they love the wild just as much as you do.
When you ride in the Rocky Mountains, you'll see vistas that only appear in works of art otherwise. You'll see miracles and wonder in the land that you can't see anywhere else. Mounting your trusty four-legged friend, ride slowly through the brush or gallop on open plains, which themselves will lead you to mountains that give no better scenery than these alone. Your horse, too, will enjoy riding with you as you go together through the brush. This is the best way, perhaps, to take in the Rocky Mountains' scenery.
However, there's not just a slow easy ride to consider. As stated before, you can also gallop in front of the plains as you go up to the Rocky Mountains. If your horse is surefooted enough, you can even do a bit of mountain climbing on the easy trails so that you have breathtaking views of the world around you; the scenery itself seems to go on till now and. The American Indians say that this area is a place of living spirits. You'll see what they mean and perhaps will feel it, too. The ancient ancestors' spirits will give you a sense of clarity, peace and well being.
