Heroes Season 2 Episode 1
By: Erik. J. Michaels
Heroes is back, and it's doing it again! The first season took hold of me and wouldn't let me go, and the second season isn't slouching either! If you weren't fortunate enough to catch the season premiere, here's a short catch-up for you.
Entitled "Four Months Later," Season 2's first episode starts with Mohinder Suresh traveling the country lecturing on a deadly virus with potential to devastate the population when he is met by "Bob," a Company operative who offers him help in finding a cure for the virus if he'll join their efforts.
Claire and her family are being towed around the country by her father in an attempt to stay out of sight of the Company, and they finally alight in a new town for a fresh, inconspicuous start. The plan is to keep out of the spotlight and be anonymous, but that gets rather difficult when another classmate with his own secret realizes that there's something different about Claire and begins to take interest.
Molly Parker has been taken in by Suresh and "Officer Matt," but all isn't exactly calm in the household. Molly's been having horrible nightmares about "the man worse than Sylar," and there's plenty of policework going on. Both Kaito Nakamura and Angela Petrelli have received grim death threats, and they suspect they're coming from one of the "elders."
Nathan Petrelli has hit rock bottom, consumed with guilt over Peter's disappearance and assumed death after the NYC explosion of Season One. However, Peter is not dead and shows up in Ireland of all places, handcuffed into a shipping container with no memories at all about his identity or abilities.
Hiro is astonished to find himself all of a sudden in 17th century Japan, alongside the great Takezo Kensei of legends...although he quickly learns that there is a lot more to Kensei than he ever expected, and the legendary warrior is nowhere near who he thought he was.
Finally, we meet a new pair of characters, Maya and Alejandro. Wanted for murder due to Maya's stress-triggered ability that causes everyone around her to die, the brother and sister pair are fleeing to America to find a certain "Dr. Suresh."
So that's that. This season is certainly going to be eventful, at least if the premiere is any good indicator. There's a lot going on, and as you probably hoped it hasn't lost any of its charm and certainly still loves the cliffhanger endings. We're in for one wild ride!
