External Liberties and Internal Freedoms

By: Healthy Wealthy nWise

Ellie Drake, a world-famous motivational speaker, came from a humble background in Iran. While living in Iran, she was told many times to give up on having dreams. No one there could be successful. Giving up just wasn't in her blood, though. She would later come to America knowing barely a word of English and live out the American Dream.

It had always been Ellie's dream to come to America. It was a free land very different from her own. As a child, Ellie taught herself one new English word everyday by reading from a dictionary while she walked to school. Of course she couldn't pronounce the words she was learning, but she was at least able to familiarize herself with the language.

Ellie Drake's life changed in an instant when her parents brought her to America. Ellie's heart was filled with passion. She had the freedom to do or be anyone she wished, and she had the liberty of living in a country that would allow her to do so. She was unstoppable.

To have success, you have to light your passions on fire and let them burn into your heart. Success and passion are absolutely not the same things, although they seem to go hand in hand. Being successful in your job doesn't mean you're passionate about your job, but making a career out of something you're passionate about is bound to bring you success.

Ellie Drake was very successful in American schools. Her parents told her she would become a doctor so that she could make enough money to care for them. Ellie DID become a doctor, but she wasn't passionate about that choice. She didn't enjoy her job. She didn't look forward to springing out of bed in the morning for another day of practicing medicine. She wanted more out of life.

One day Ellie decided she'd had enough and handed her medical degree to her parents. She wouldn't be needing it anymore because she confidently told them she would rather follow the passions in her heart by becoming a speaker and entrepreneur. Sure, she knew she would have setbacks and failures, but she also knew that her passion was strong enough to get her through the tough times ahead.

Too many people wonder how to make a living while following their passions. Ellie doesn't look at it that way. She encourages audiences of all sorts to focus on passion rather than money. Focusing on money brings debt. Focusing on passion brings happiness, fulfillment, and money.

Ellie started out with more debt than most of us will ever see. She had a $150,000 student loan, and she had spend $115,000 on credit card purchases. Debt was never her focus, though. Passion was her focus, and because of it, she is empowering others today through BraveHeart Productions to live out the American Dream the way they see fit.
