Determining Costs In Drug Rehabilitation
By: Chris Channing
Drug rehabilitation isn't something that many want to go through, solely due to the fact that it can be so expensive. But there are variables and situations that can make the process a lot less expensive when taking into account the alternatives to a viable drug rehabilitation center.
There was a report done by a helpful group of statisticians that shows an average price in drug rehabilitation centers. This average price would constantly float around the area of $1,000 or up to $8,000- depending on options and the drug being treated for. This report was done in 2002, however, so there are likely slight differences in price, which would likely mean that prices are slightly higher due to inflation.
For the drug users that have been caught and sent to prison, they can attest that prison is no paradise. In fact, studies show that even modest prisons will pay upwards of $20,000 per year for each prisoner. This large figure shows that even a year long association with a rehabilitation center can be less expensive than going to a prison as a result of using drugs.
Still other studies prove that money saved from a drug or alcohol addiction can save many times the cost of a rehabilitation center over just a year's time. If one can commit to the addiction free lifestyle, their savings will continue to culminate to prove that even the most expensive of drug rehabilitation centers can be affordable in the right amount of perspective.
Just like any other service or product on the market, shopping around for a drug rehabilitation center can prove to be just as economical. Different centers will offer different services, fees, and facilities. Thus, it is best to travel to surrounding communities in search of the bes deal for the best price. Doing so might not make a rehab center affordable to everyone, but it can indeed extend the price reach to even lower class families.
A popular option for those who still aren't sure whether or not they can submit themselves or someone they know to a rehabilitation center will likely qualify for either government aid or payment plans. Payment plans in particular are a great result of the credit age, which simply means that paying a monthly fee over a period of time is all that is required in order to pay off the debt in question.
Closing Comments
A drug rehabilitation center is always going to cost money, unless special circumstances can be found. Some of the cheaper institutions will be glad to admit patients for $1,000 or less, depending on the details. More severe cases may require up to $10,000- but rest assured, the investment in a rehabilitation center is well worth the money. In terms of the next few years of the patient being drug free, there is a very excellent return on investment to look out for.
