Decorating a Sunroom

By: Adam Peters

This article talks about the installation process and benefit of a sunroom plan.

A room in your house where the entire room is full of sunlight during the day is known as a sunroom. People who get sunlight only for a certain time in the whole year know the importance of the sunlight which is why they opt for a sunroom. The people living in places where there is a lot of sunlight like on the both sides of the equator would get to know the real importance of it when the temperature goes too low for their own comfort. In the Southern hemisphere, a house facing the north side and in the Northern hemisphere a house facing the south side can be installed with a sunroom. If someone is living on a ranch, the person can have sunroom on either side of the house. It would be nice to have one sun room for morning and the other for evening.

The sunroom is said to be an exceptional place in the house. The whole day whether it is morning or evening, it is full of sunlight. During the winter season it is exposed to cold winds and snow and in the raining season it gets exposed to rain. With having a direct link with nature's elements, the furniture kept in the sunroom gets exposed to the harsh weather condition when the season changes. This requires distinctive furniture for your sunroom. It should have a low maintenance. At the same time should be long lasting as many would not get the time to polish it again and again. It should also be kept under a cover when it rains or snows. The furniture can be made out of synthetic material or the natural materials.

A DIY enthusiast can easily construct patio rooms or outdoor awnings. Different kits are also obtainable for the sunrooms. The Sunroom can be made with glass so that the sunlight can be let in whenever it is possible. There should be some arrangements to keep the room heated when no sunlight can get through the windows. A small wall can be made if you want to. The materials used to construct can be wood, PVC and Aluminum.

If you have a sunroom that is totally covered and where the outside air can be kept controlled than you can choose any sort of furniture. The best option is to have furniture which is made of teak wood. This furniture would last long and also beautify the room.

Sunrooms which are on constructed the ground floor have a separate issue on furniture. There you may need to put PVC chairs that can be moved to different parts of the house if needed. Properly coated metal furniture or bamboo furniture can be yet another choice.

The color selection depends entirely on an individual's taste. You can use any color that pleases you or the one that goes best with the room. Usually furniture in shades of black and white are preferred largely.
