Cost of Face Lift Procedures

By: Fen Tan

A face lift is famous medical surgery that intends to bring youthful appearance back into a person's face. A facelift stretches the skin and removes excess skin, and it repositions saggy facial tissues. This procedure has been done for more than a hundred years, and is one of the most famous beauty surgical procedures done today.

Despite its fame, most people hesitate to undergo a face lift. Aside from the long recovery period and the painful side effects, another one of the most prominent reasons to avoid it is the cost of a face lift. It's not exactly a budget-friendly procedure. There are many factors that affect the cost of face lifts, including the surgeon, the region, the type, and the extent of the procedure.

The facelift is a group of medical procedures aimed to alter a person's facial features. Generally, facelifts are done by very experienced surgeons, though there are some doctors who try to pass off as licensed plastic surgeons because of the high price of facelift operations. If you plan to go for a facelift, you should dig up a little hsitory on your doctor before going through with any procedure.

Another factor is the extent and type of the procedure. For example, there are patients with dryer facial skin, which can make the face lift procedure more difficult and longer than the usual. The longer and the more complex, the more expensive the price will be. Some patients opt for more procedures done at the same time, combining them with other treatments such as plastic surgery. This also makes the cost of the face lift much more expensive, and can reach up to $20,000 to $25,000.

If you find traditional face lifts too expensive, you can opt for more less expensive non-surgical procedures. Botox, an injectable face lift method, can cost $400 to $500 dollars per session. Thermage, another non-surgical face lift procedure, costs $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the treatment. However, these non-surgical procedure's effects can last for a shorter time than the traditional face lift.
