Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate Helps Women Produce & Discharge Eggs

By: iSteroids

Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate was the primary effectual infertility medicinal drugs, which has been used for years to encourage ovulation in women who have unbalanced or absent periods.

Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate works at an area of the brain called the hypothalamus that is sited directly under the pituitary gland. The hypothalamus is responsible for modulating the fabrication of follicle stimulating (FSH) and luteinizing hormones (LH). The hypothalamus makes gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) that indicates the pituitary to raise the fabrication of FSH and LH. FSH energizes the growth of eggs inside the ovarian follicles on the female internal reproductive organ (ovaries).

The hypothalamus keeps an eye on the levels of different hormones such as estrogen, through a complex biofeedback mechanism. When estrogen levels are below a certain threshold the hypothalamus liberates extra GnRH thus indicating the pituitary to raise FSH production. Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate works at the hypothalamus by “binding” estrogen receptors therefore making measured estrogen degrees lower. Clomid also enhances the LH levels.

The molecular formula of Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate is C26H28ClNO•C6H8O7. Its molecular weight is 598.09. Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate pills USP is a combination of two geometric isomers zuclomiphene and enclomiphene that contains between 30% and 50% of the cis-isomer.

Normally, Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate is taken for five days at 50 mg/day and if ovulation does not take place the quantity is increased to 100 mg/day. At higher dosages, such as 150 mg/day, the treatment period is frequently enlarged to 8 days. Once ovulation occurs on Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate there is no benefit to increasing the amount since the ovaries are not directly stimulated.

There are several reports signaling that pregnancy is most likely to happen during the first three ovulatory cycles on Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate. Approximately 80% of women will produce and discharge eggs, and half of which become pregnant. There is no benefit to carrying on treatment further than six months. Follicle stimulating hormone with intrauterine insemination is often the next step.

Clomid-Clomiphene Citrate can produce side effects, which include hot flashes, vaginal dryness, visual disturbances, nausea, dizziness, and ovarian enlargement. But generally, it is very well tolerated. Many women also experience diminished cervical mucous while on Clomid.
