If you are serious about learning how to start an online business, while having many sources of information from everywhere can be helpful, it can become a problem too. When you visit a site that offers good tutorials about it and looks just fine, you may decide to subscribe to their newsletter and start to read all the information they provide.

At this point it is necessary to realize that the gurus and the expert marketers, usually ask you to join other couching programs and they encourage you to sign up with a lot of other newsletters. There is nothing bad with it, but soon you start to be overloaded by tutorials and memberships to all kind of useful services. Keeping up with all of them it is very difficult.

The gurus claim that doesn't matter if you are a geek or a "newbie", they will make you rich overnight with their couching programs, some of them can even cost one thousand dollars a month. I have no doubt that the technics they teach you are very interesting, the only thing that doesn't sound right is that how can you learn something now and manage it to be rich overnight?

Don't be fooled by the gurus, remember that it will be crucial to decide which one will be your forte, yes right at the beginning you better decide if you want to focus on SEO, and this is definitely not something you can learn in a few days, or if you want to get into pay per click, that is a different science, but is not something you can become an expert in a few days!

In my personal experience it is much better if you learn HTML right from the beginning. Can you imagine how frustrating it can get if you have to call someone to install a shopping cart to your web site, or when you will have to validate your page to be w3c.org compliant.

It will be much easier if you realize that becoming a successful Internet marketer, it is possible and it doesn't depend on being lucky, it depends on you and being willing to take the necessary steps to be successful. Good choices right at the beginning are going to avoid you a waste of money and effort.

You have to start to write your very own good content, in order to be successful in the Internet and consider that the search engine will reward much more your original content, instead of the same thing cooked over and over again.

Be skeptical of the gurus that ask you for memberships of several hundred dollars a month, even if they promise you a nice life, they show you pictures of nice cars and nice houses, none of them became rich overnight. They started when being successful in Internet was really easy, now it is different, to be successful it does take effort and time. Making money online it is still possible but it may be not as easy as the gurus claim it to be.
